PORTO FEMME 2022: WORKSHOP | Paula Miranda & Fernanda Polacow

PT_ O 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐞 - 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 vai realizar a sua 5ª edição de 12 a 17 de Setembro, na cidade do Porto, e para além de um vasto programa fílmico, aposta novamente na componente formativa com workshops na área de cinema. 
Nos dias 16 e 17 de Setembro, das 10h00 às 13h00, o workshop Mulheres no Cinema e Audiovisual pelo Olhar do Guião e da Montagem e é ministrado pela Paula Miranda & Fernanda Polacow. Dois dias para falar sobre filmes, dando especial ênfase ao processo de escrita e montagem. Discutimos e desconstruímos a realização enquanto cargo principal na criação de uma obra e abrimos espaço para falar sobre o que acontece antes e depois das filmagens. Olhamos para o panorama atual a nível da participação da mulher enquanto criadora e da sua figura enquanto personagem. Como nos vemos e como nos veem? 
Paula Miranda Há vinte anos a cortar e colar imagens com som. É montadora mas não veio da escola de cinema, estudou antes Belas Artes em Inglaterra. Rapidamente percebeu que onde se sentia em casa era na criação de narrativas com imagens em movimento, o que naturalmente a levou a enveredar pela montagem. Andou por Roma, Barcelona e Nova Iorque a contar histórias em várias línguas e em 2010 acabou por aterrar de novo em Lisboa onde ainda hoje trabalha como freelancer nas áreas de publicidade, televisão, documentário e cinema. Gosta de ficção mas tem um espacinho especial no coração para encaixar a vida real (e as temáticas que ela traz consigo) dentro de um écran. Em 2021 juntou-se a um grupo de colegas profissionais da área e juntas fundaram a MUTIM, onde debatem e impulsionam o papel da mulher no cinema e audiovisual em Portugal. 
Fernanda Polacow é uma guionista luso-brasileira a viver entre São Paulo e Lisboa. Tem desenvolvido, escrito e realizado projetos para cinema e audiovisual, tanto ficção quanto documentários. Também faz mentoria para criadores de conteúdo. Faz parte do Festival Internacional de Filmes de Berlim através do programa Berlinale Talents 2022. Escreveu a longa-metragem Mosquito, escolhida para abrir o Festival de Cinema de Roterdão 2020 e que conquistou o prémio da crítica de Melhor Filme na Mostra de Cinema de São Paulo 2020. Por este filme foi indicada aos Prémios Sophia da Academia Portuguesa de Cinema na categoria Melhor Guião Original. Está a desenvolver a sua próxima longa metragem de ficção. Já escreveu projectos para HBO, Al Jazeera, Globo (Brasil), RTP, Nat Geo, Discovery Channel, TV Cultura (Brasil), entre outros. É co-fundadora e parte da MUTIM, a primeira associação de mulheres trabalhadoras das imagens em movimento em Portugal. É mãe e percussionista amadora.

EN_ 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐞 - 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 will hold its 5th edition from September 12th to 17th, in the city of Porto, and in addition to a vast film program, it is again investing in the training component with workshops in the film area.
On September 16th and 17th, from 10.00 to 17.00, the workshop, Women in Cinema and Audiovisual through the Look of the Script and Editing will be held by Paula Miranda and Fernanda Polacow. Two days to talk about films, giving special emphasis to the writing and editing process. We discuss and deconstruct directing as the main role in the creation of a work and make room to talk about what happens before and after filming. We look at the current scenario in terms of women's participation as creators and their figure as a character. How do we see ourselves and how do they see us? 
Paula Miranda Twenty years of cutting and pasting images with sound. She is an editor but did not come from film school, she studied Fine Arts in England. She quickly realized that where she felt at home was in creating narratives with moving images, which naturally led her to embark on editing. She traveled around Rome, Barcelona and New York telling stories in several languages ​​and in 2010 she landed again in Lisbon where she still works as a freelancer in the areas of advertising, television, documentary and cinema. She likes fiction but has a special space in her heart to fit real life (and the themes it brings with it) inside a screen. In 2021, she joined a group of fellow professionals in the field and together they founded MUTIM, where they debate and promote the role of women in cinema and audiovisual in Portugal. 
Fernanda Polacow is a Portuguese-Brazilian screenwriter living between São Paulo and Lisbon. She has developed, written and directed projects for cinema and audiovisual, both fiction and documentaries. Also mentors content creators. She is part of the Berlin International Film Festival through the program Berlinale Talents 2022. Wrote the feature film Mosquito, chosen to open the Rotterdam Film Festival 2020 and which won the critics' award for Best Film at the São Paulo Film Festival 2020. For this film, she was nominated for the Sophia Awards of the Portuguese Academy of Cinema in the Best Original Screenplay category. She is developing her next fiction feature film. She has written projects for HBO, Al Jazeera, Globo (Brazil), RTP, Nat Geo, Discovery Channel, TV Cultura (Brazil), among others. She is co-founder and part of MUTIM, the first association of women working in moving images in Portugal. She is a mother and an amateur percussionist.
