Join us if you would like to improve your posture, or the way you move. In tonight's class, we will be lying on the mat most of the time. We will use subtle movements and imagery to understand and make the body-mind connection to the pelvis. Expect to increase control over the pelvis and head, and clarify the spine. It is brilliant for reorganizing the head, neck, and shoulders (some versions more explicitly coordinate and differentiate the head). This is a group for people of any age or ability who wish to improve their movement, whether recovering from injury, to improve performance, lower anxiety, or simply to explore oneself in a more mindful way. Feldenkrais is a movement method, which connects the nervous system and brain more clearly to change our movement and postural habits in an easy way. Through a whole variety of lessons we explore the different parts of the body, movement patterns and how we can change our habits to move more easily, and carry ourselves better. Each lesson concentrates on feeling the self as you move- a sort of Mindfulness in Motion. We explore a range of movements, and how that can help us move better and more easily. This class is amazing for yogis to go deeper, feel deeper, and integrate deeper. This is also a wonderful class for easing low back pain and stress. Understanding the movements of the pelvis, allow us to put less tension on the low back, and let the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the pelvis to their jobs! If you have low back or pelvis pain or injuries - this is a great class for you! Please wear comfortable clothing that you will stay warm in.
