How can Sensitivity become a gift ~ a Mindfulness Workshop

How can Sensitivity become a gift ~ a Mindfulness Workshop

The purpose of the workshop:

How can greater awareness and a mindful approach to life make us more observant of ourselves and our needs, so that we learn to listen and trust our body’s signals?
How can we handle stress and anxiety by focusing on the moment and becoming consciously aware of our breath? How do we learn to relax into ourselves, so that we instinctively know what's right for us? How do we, as sensitive individuals and women, learn to set limits and boundaries around our time so we do not feel guilty of saying no?

This three-hour women’s-workshop introduces the concept of high sensitivity and sees it in relation to mindfulness, personal durability and femininity. We undergo a series of exercises that can help you find new ways to manage your own level of sensitivity. Exercises come from mindfulness, meditation, yoga, authentic movement and somatic principles.

About being highly sensitive:

As highly sensitive people we are often full of compassion and empathy for others. We are often social beings, who are passionate and who pay attention to everything that moves around us. We take the environment in a hypersensitive manner and our intuition is often strong because we feel things deeply and our nervous system is more sensitive than others.

Sometimes it may seem like we do not have enough hard skin on our bodies, as we easily can be affected by other people's feelings and energies. We may also feel depressed and exhausted if we do not get enough time for recuperation. If we've been among people for too long we can often get the feeling of wanting to escape, because our energy has been depleted. So we need to find strategies and ways in which to take care of ourselves in a wholesome way.

High sensitivity can often be misunderstood as being introvert, though it is not the same. One can be extrovert and highly sensitive and therefore need a lot of time for recuperation after social engagements and a full working day. This fact can lead to feeling wrong and insufficient. But it is the not so. Sensitivity is a gift. Though if we do not learn to listen to it but just run over our personal stop signals, we may loose contact with who we are and our intuition.
