A cana é o par perfeito dos figos algarvios. Com ela se faziam as esteiras para secar este precioso e nutritivo fruto. Também de cana, são os cestos usados para guardar os figos recheados de amêndoas. Esta planta abunda junto às ribeiras algarvias, e deve ser utilizada de forma a garantir o bom escoamento das águas. Neste workshop aprenderá a entrelaçar a cana criando um pequeno cesto e recheá-lo com saborosos figos “cheios”.

//Workshop “making a little basket to keep your figs“
Cane is the perfect pairing to the figs from the Algarve. This is the material from which people used to make the trays where this precious and nutritious fruit was left to dry. This is also the material used in the making of the little baskets where the almond filled figs are kept. This plant is very abundant next to the streams found in the Algarve and contributes to the better flow of the water. In this workshop, you will learn how to weave the cane creating a small basket where you can keep your delicious figs.
