Opening of the 17th MIRA Mobile Prize Exhibition

No próximo sábado, 4 de maio, decorre a inauguração da exposição da 17ª edição do MIRA Mobile Prize, pelas 16h, no MIRA | artes performativas na rua Padre António Vieira, 68. 
Celebramos a fotografia mobile há quase 10 anos contando com dezenas de milhares de imagens enviadas de todo o mundo. Recebemos na cidade do Porto os vencedores de várias edições e visitantes vindos de diversos países. E, desde sempre, as nossas candidaturas são gratuitas! 
Nesta edição, estão presentes as categorias - ARTE DIGITAL, ARQUITETURA, MINIMAL, PAISAGEM, RETRATO E VIDA QUOTIDIANA - a que acrescentamos uma nova categoria: imagens construídas com o recurso à INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL. Porquê?
A comunidade mobile constituiu-se sempre animada por um espírito de abertura em relação ao novo aceitando o desafio de experimentar. É esse mesmo espírito que nos leva a ousar arriscar o que nos provoca e inquieta: a Inteligência Artificial na fotografia. Fomos também animados pela constatação de que já há muitos membros da comunidade mobile a apresentar excelentes trabalhos com recurso à AI. 

 
A vencedora desta edição foi Andréa Seligman, arquiteta e fotógrafa artística, já participou em várias exposições no Brasil e outras tantas internacionais, tendo já integrado várias shortlist do MIRA Mobile Prize.  
O português mais bem classificado é António Tedim, fotógrafo autodidata que, como sempre diz a sua preferência é pela “fotografia com gente dentro”.

A exposição é composta pelas fotografias da shortlist e em projeção estão as 200 fotografias mais bem classificadas.

Next Saturday, 4 May, is the opening of the exhibition of the 17th edition of the MIRA Mobile Prize, at 4pm, at MIRA | performing arts in Rua Padre António Vieira, 68. 
We've been celebrating mobile photography for almost 10 years, with tens of thousands of images sent from all over the world. We've welcomed the winners of various editions and visitors from different countries to Porto. And our entries have always been free!
In this edition, we have the following categories - DIGITAL ART, ARCHITECTURE, MINIMAL, LANDSCAPE, PORTRAIT AND DAILY LIFE - to which we have added a new category: images created using ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Why? 
The mobile community has always been characterised by a spirit of openness towards the new, accepting the challenge to experiment. It is this same spirit that leads us to dare to risk what provokes and unsettles us: Artificial Intelligence in photography

We were also encouraged by the fact that many members of the mobile community are already presenting excellent work using AI.
We dedicate this edition of the MMP to Marian Seid Rubin, a pioneer of mobile photography and an active and supportive member of our community! 

 
This year's winner was Andréa Seligman, an architect and artistic photographer who has participated in several exhibitions in Brazil and many others internationally, and has been on the shortlist for the MIRA Mobile Prize several times.  

 
The Portuguese winner is António Tedim, a self-taught photographer who, as he always says, prefers "photography with people in it".
