O Tincal lab irá juntar-se ao próximo evento de Inaugurações Simultâneas em Miguel Bombarda no dia 16 de Março, Sábado, com a apresentação da exposição individual “Lenguas”, de Lara Solia Barenboim. Contaremos com a presença da autora, vinda de Buenos Aires, Argentina - venham celebrar connosco o carácter único da joalharia contemporânea, das 16h às 20h!
Lara Solia Barenboim foi a vencedora do Prémio Selecção do Júri do Desafio Tincal lab 2022 Joalharia e Literatura. Combinando o metal com a técnica de bordado, cria peças sensíveis que falam da sua obsessão pelo movimento, pela repetição e casualidade, objectos simbólicos, esculturas usáveis, jóias ricas em matéria, sentimento e significado.
“El español es mi lengua materna. En español decimos “lengua” (órgano) y “lengua” (lenguaje) usando la misma palabra. Por un lado, LENGUA se refiere al órgano muscular que se encuentra dentro de la boca y que nos permite saborear, tragar los alimentos y producir sonidos. Por otro lado, LENGUA es la capacidad que tiene el ser humano de expresarse y comunicarse con otros a través de sonidos articulados u otros sistemas simbólicos.
En forma de lengua coloco mi trabajo con un sistema de broche que mantiene la pieza cerca del pecho donde vibra la voz, generando volúmenes y conformando espacios, que dicen en mi propio lenguaje bordado obsesivamente acerca del tiempo, entrando y saliendo, con pausas y blancos en el decir, con movimientos que se repiten, se acumulan, se intuyen, y se detienen sin relación causal.
Deseo, con estos objetos portables, crear mi propio símbolo metonímico donde envuelvo mis sentimientos, para luego desprenderme y que sigan su propio camino.”

We will have the presence of the artist, coming from Buenos Aires, Argentina - come celebrate the uniqueness of contemporary jewelry with us, from 4pm to 8pm!
Lara Solia Barenboim is the winner of the Selection of the Jury Award of Tincal lab Challenge 2022 Jewelry and Literature. Combining metal with the embroidery technique, she creates sensitive pieces that speak of her obsession with movement, repetition and chance, symbolic objects, wearable sculptures, jewels rich in matter, feeling and meaning.
“Spanish is my mother language. In Spanish we say “tongue” and “language” using the same word. On one hand, LENGUA (tongue) refers to the muscular organ found inside the mouth that allows us to taste, swallow food and produce sound. On the other hand, LENGUA (language) is the ability of human beings to express themselves and communicate with others through articulated sound or other symbolic systems.
I made this series of brooches, creating volume and spaces. These works speak about time, coming and going in my own obsessively embroidered language, with pauses and gaps in my speech, with movements that repeat themselves and accumulate. They anticipate each other, and then stop without any causality. In the form of a tongue I place my work with a clasp system that keeps the piece close to the chest where the voice vibrates.
I wish, with these wearable objects, I can create my own metonymic symbol where I can wrap my feelings, and then detach them from myself so they can follow their own path.”
