PT "A Possibilidade de uma Ilha" é uma coleção de dispositivos que convocam o público a refletir sobre vários acontecimentos performativos cuja premissa é: the artist is not present. Aqui a dicotomia conceptual entre o tempo presente do fenómeno e a ausência física do artista/da obra são o ponto de partida que une todas as peças propostas para este projeto, levando a interatividade do público com a obra a um lugar de questionamento sobre onde está assente a intencionalidade da arte: a obra é a intenção do olhar para um objeto ou é simplesmente o objeto exposto ao olhar do público? As peças aqui apresentadas podem ser lidas como ilhas de acontecimentos que aparecem e desaparecem ao ritmo do leitor/espectador que, com a sua presença, faz emergir e submergir micro-eventos no macro-vazio exposto na galeria. Numa tentativa de amplificação e disseminação da ideia de que o artista não está presente ou de que obra não está aqui, A Possibilidade de uma Ilha está em exibição em 4 cidades de 2 países diferentes ao mesmo tempo.
𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐚 (𝐏𝐓) 𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐬 (𝐒𝐄) Este projeto é o resultado da colaboração entre a Terceira Pessoa, de Castelo Branco e a Darling Desperados, de Estocolmo, ambas estruturas de criação artística que têm feito caminhos muito próximos no que respeita à forma e ao conteúdo de alguns projetos. Por um lado, as práticas intimamente ligadas às artes de palco, nomeadamente o teatro, bem como o constante movimento de questionamento desta disciplina, traz às duas estruturas uma relação de admiração mútua pela forma com que trabalham. Os trabalhos que as estruturas têm desenvolvido nos últimos 3 anos, que abordam os universos do digital e do virtual, deram, por outro lado, força à efetivação desta parceria. Em A Possibilidade de uma Ilha, as estruturas desafiaram-se a trabalhar a performatividade do corpo – o analógico – em relação direta com a ausência da fisicalidade – o virtual. Este binómio vem desafiar a equipa artística a, mesmo estando fisicamente ausente, criar um conjunto de obras que ativem uma fisicalidade, uma presença e um presente, concretizando assim o desejo antigo de desenvolverem um projeto artístico juntas.
~ EN “The Possibility of an Island” is a collection of devices that convokes the audience in a reflection about several performative happenings which are driven by the premise: the artist is not present. The conceptual duality between the present time of the phenomena and physical absence of the artist/piece of art is the trigger that joins all the proposed objects of this project, bringing the audience’s interactivity to a level of questioning the basis of the intentionality of the art: is art the intention of the seeing at an object or is it rather and only the object exposed to the sight of the viewer? The artwork presented in this exhibition can be read as “islands of happenings” which appear and disappear by the rhythm of the spectator who, with his presence, makes emerge and submerge micro-events within the macro-emptiness of what is shown in the gallery. In the attempt of amplifying and disseminating the idea that the artist is not present, or the artwork is not here, “The Possibility of an Island” is exhibited in 3 cities of 2 different countries at the same time.
𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐚 (𝐏𝐓) + 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐬 (𝐒𝐄) This project is the result of a collaboration between Terceira Pessoa, from Castelo Branco, and Darling Desperados, from Stockholm, both artistic structures that have been working in similar ways in respect to the form and contempt of some of their projects. In one way, the practices closely connected to the performative arts, as well as the continuous movement of questioning their own practice, brings to both companies a relation of mutual admiration and respect. The projects that are related to the digital and virtual concepts both companies have been working on for the last 3 years, gave, on the other hand, strength to raise this partnership. In “The Possibility of an Island”, Terceira Pessoa and Darling Desperados challenge themselves to work on the performativity of the body – the analogic – in direct relation with the absence of physicality – the virtual. These two sides challenged the artists to create some objects that activates one kind of physicality, one kind of presence and a kind of present time, making the old desire of working together come true, even though the team were always physically absent.
