PT Summer Sessions 2017 / Arquivo 237 THIS TIME IS NOT THE PLACE Ryan Cherewaty Inaguração / Bairro das Artes: 21 Set, 19h Exposição: 21 Set–26 Set Residência: 17 Ago–26 Set A qualquer momento no tempo, um indivíduo pode se disseminar por vários locais, reais e virtuais, onde intercâmbios de informação transportam uma parte da mente para um outro lugar para além do corpo físico. “This time is not the place” investiga esse fenómeno e explora os potenciais limites de uma experiência sensorial através de um filme de realidade virtual de 360º que utiliza espaços narrativos audiovisuais para se manifestar de forma tangível, num ambiente alucinatório e sonhador. Information exchanges transplant a portion of the mind to another place, apart from the physical body. “This Time is not the Place” investigates this phenomenon and explores the potential limits of a sensory experience. A 360° VR film utilises audio/visual narrative spaces to tangibly manifest dislocation in a hallucinatory and dreamlike environment. Architectural forms, lights and sounds fold into one another as the viewer’s sense of sight changes perspectives, ultimately questioning our perception of reality.
