A partir de 12 de julho, a Solar – Galeria de Arte Cinemática recebe "Which pain does film cure?", a primeira exposição em território nacional da cineasta e artista visual iraniana Maryam Tafakory. Com obras inéditas e já reconhecidas, a mostra reúne instalações “site specific” que abordam de forma crítica e poética temas como o lugar da mulher, o desejo e as contradições da sociedade iraniana. Tafakory, cuja prática se aproxima do ensaio audiovisual e do “found footage”, propõe um olhar atento sobre aquilo que as imagens silenciam.
Paralelamente, o 33.º Curtas Vila do Conde – Festival Internacional de Cinema dedica-lhe um programa integral entre 12 e 20 de julho, com sessões de cinema (uma retrospetiva parcial e uma Carta Branca), visita guiada, leitura performativa e conversa com o público.
[𝗘𝗡] From July 12, Solar – Cinematic Art Gallery will host “Which pain does film cure?”, the first exhibition in Portugal by Iranian filmmaker and visual artist Maryam Tafakory. Featuring both new and previously exhibited works, the exhibition brings together site-specific installations that critically and poetically address themes such as the place of women, desire, and the contradictions of Iranian society. Tafakory, whose practice resembles audiovisual essays and found footage, offers a keen eye on what images silence.
Simultaneously, the 33rd Curtas Vila do Conde – International Film Festival will dedicate an entire program to her between July 12th and 20th, with film screenings, a partial retrospective, a carte blanche, a guided tour, a performative reading, and a conversation with the audience.
