We believe that innovation is responsible for many transformations in our lives.

But what if startups and big companies start working together to innovate for social causes?

How can innovation accelerate social change and contribute to a positive impact on society?

Is it possible to be an entrepreneur and build sustainable business models that can create positive social impact?

To answer this question, we are honored to invite Inês Jardim Sequeira, founder and director of Casa do Impacto, to come to our hub for an open conversation about social impact.

With her we welcome Richard Kappel, founder of MIXLife - Culture X and director of makesense Portugal, to share his take on the matter.

Alisson Avila, one of our co-founders, will join the conversation by contributing Beta-i's view on collaborative innovation.

This event will also be supported by makesense, the Paris based organization with "Hotspots" in cities around the world, where volunteers focus to inspire and empower citizens, entrepreneurs and organizations to build inclusive and sustainable society together.

You are welcome!

Lawyer by training, Inês left her own law practice in 2009 to make a difference in the public sector. Since then, she has been working with innovation and entrepreneurship in the Municipality of Lisbon and for the Portuguese Government. For Inês, it all comes down to making the entrepreneurial tissue a driver to overcome social, economic and political challenges. In January 2018, she joined the five century old organization Santa Casa de Misericórdia, where she leads the Department of Entrepreneurship and Social Economy and Casa do Impacto, a social innovation hub which open its doors last year, in a convent at one of the most stunning hills of Lisbon.

In 2009, Richard left the Health Insurance Agency he helped his father build, sold everything he owned and bought a one-way ticket to Spain to start exploring himself, and the world. He spent 9 years living in a small mountain village running a non-profit hostel for the pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago and founding Project Brigid a cultural exchange center. After learning about the Impact Industry, he left the village-life he loved and moved to Lisbon to scale his social enterprise MIXLife - Culture X. Volunteering has always been a big part of Richard's life, and he's chosen to be an advocate for the Impact Industry as the Director of makesense Lisbon Hotspot.
