A sétima edição do Arquiteturas, Festival de Cinema e Arquitetura, terá lugar no cinema São Jorge do dia 4 ao dia 9 de Junho, sobre o tema HUMAN NATURE. Na seleção oficial o Festival faz destaque a grandes movimentos da história da arquitetura e do design e complementa com histórias contemporâneas que celebram a diversidade da natureza humana. A Holanda é o pais convidado desta edição, e com uma nova geração de autores que alimentam a conexão entre cinema e arquitetura vamos conhecer exemplos inspiradores proveniente de um país reinventado pela mão do homem. No The 3rd Floor a diretora do Festival Sofia Mourato vai apresentar 4 curta-metragens:Still Turning by Jesse Pickett - documentário sobre a relação de sabedoria do ser humano para com a água e sobre manutenção da tradição construtiva das enormes rodas d’agua na cidade de Lanzhou, nas margens do Rio Amarelo, na China. Iris by Lea Naijar - filme sobre a resistência de um estilo de vida ameaçado pela especulação imobiliária na costa da cidade de onde arquitetos locais projetam uma estrutura maremotriz de captação de energia renovável que devolverá o direito à eletricidade aos pescadores, os habitantes originais a perder direitos pelos processos de valorização do território.A paisagem das montanhas do Nepal é o cenário de Smoke Through a Spider Web. Nesta ficção a tradição da vida no campo é mostrada nos rituais coletivos de celebração e na construção de fornos de barro. O sistema de castas e crenças do país, no entanto, condiciona a prática dessas tradições.Entremarés é um documentário sobre a comunidade da Ilha de Deus, situada no bairro da Imbiribeira, nas franjas da grande Recife. O filme aborda o quotidiano de três mulheres que sobrevivem da atividade de pesca no mangue e, com o seu trabalho de resistência, transformam as condições de vida da comunidade. The seventh edition of Arquiteturas, festival of Cinema and Architecture, will take place in cinema São Jorge from June the 4th until June the 9th, on the theme HUMA NATURE. In the official selection the Festival highlights the great movements from the history of architecture and design and complements with contemporary stories that celebrate the diversity of human nature. The Netherlands is the guest country of this edition, by showcasing a new generation of authors, who nurture the connection between cinema and architecture, we will take a look at inspiring examples from a country reinvented by the hand of man.The director of the Festival Sofia Mourato will present 4 shorts:Still Turning by Jesse is a documentary about the relationship between human wisdom and water and about maintaining the constructive tradition of the huge water wheels in the city of Lanzhou on the banks of the Yellow River in China.Iris is a film about the endurance of a lifestyle threatened by real estate speculation. On the coast of Beirut city, local architects design a structure to capture tidal energy that will return the right to electricity to fishermen, the original inhabitants who are losing their rights through the processes of valorization of the territory.The landscape of the mountains of Nepal is the scene of Smoke Through the Spider Web. In this fiction, too, the tradition of country life is shown in the collective rituals of celebration and the construction of clay ovens. The caste system and beliefs of the country, however, condition the practice of these traditions. Entremarés is a documentary about the community of Ilha de Deus, located in the neighborhood of Imbiribeira, on the fringes of the great Recife. The film addresses the daily lives of three women who trive with the fishing activity in the mangrove and, with their work of resistance, transform the living conditions of the community.
