António sees his life brutally interrupted when sent by the Portuguese army to serve as doctor in one of the worst areas of the Portuguese Colonial War - the East of Angola. Aspiring writer, far from everything he loves, he writes letters to his wife as he sinks into a scene of growing violence. Faced with the uncertainty of the events of war, the letters are his one motivation to fight for survival.
