Inspirado na lenda d’O Rei Pescador, o eclético realizador Terry Gilliam traz para o grande ecrã a adaptação homónima que transporta sem esforço o texto da Idade Média para o século XX num espetáculo de malabarismo cinematográfico que alterna mito, indiferença e realidade. “The Fisher King”, um filme cujo mérito certamente substituirá a má imagem que poderão ter deste realizador, falsamente acusado de danificar um monumento português na rodagem da sua mais recente obra cinematográfica, é considerado (controversamente) uma das maiores obras da sua carreira. O filme conta a história de Jack e Parry, estranhos cujos destinos se cruzam indelevelmente quando a negatividade que o primeiro difunde ao longo das sucessivas emissões do seu programa de rádio encoraja um ouvinte a cometer um ato de terrorismo que vitima a mulher do segundo. As personagens principais desta longa metragem interpretam intermutavelmente o papel de redentor e redimido, cada um deles materializando um veículo para a fuga da realidade do outro. Integrando o ciclo “Full Frontal: O Tabu do Homem Nu”, Robin Williams (Parry) exibe-se descarada e integralmente nu perante o grande ecrã, numa das mais famosas cenas do filme.

Inspired by the legend of The Fisher King, the eclectic director Terry Gilliam brings to the big screen the homonymous adaptation that effortlessly transports the text from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century in a cinematic jugglery that alternates myth, indifference and reality. "The Fisher King", a film whose merit will certainly replace the poor image that you may have of this filmmaker, falsely accused of damaging a Portuguese monument during the filming of his latest cinematographic work, is considered (controversially) one of the greatest works of his career. The film tells the story of Jack and Parry, strangers whose fates intersect indelibly when the negativity that the first diffuses through the successive broadcasts of his radio program encourages a listener to commit an act of terrorism that victimizes the second's wife. The main characters of this feature film interchangeably interpret the role of the redeemer and the redeemed, each of them materializing a reality escape for the other. Integrating the film cycle "Full Frontal: The Tabu of the Naked Man", Robin Williams (Parry) is boldly and completely naked before the big screen in one of the most famous scenes of the film.
