WORKSHOP 2 DAYS ROCKET MASS HEATER _BUILD YOUR OWN EFFICIENT WOOD STOVE _WELDING WORKSHOP
The workshop will take place in Co-Lateral, our Production centre in Ramalde, Porto from 2th till 3th of December 2017. During these two days, the participants will learn the theory about rocket mass heaters and how to work with metal (cutting & stick welding). At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to design and build their own Rocket Mass Heater.
ROCKET MASS HEATER
The rocket mass heater is an extension to the rocket stove, also incorporating a J-shaped feeding hole. Another principle of this heater is the U-shaped combustion chamber that is covered by a large thermal mass, like for instance vast earth, bricks or any other insulation material. The restitution of the heat from the mass is done in a soft, continuous and spread way overtime.
As a low cost heating strategy, the Rocket Stove answer to the need of cheaper and efficient alternative of mainly electrical heater on Portugal. The process is also extremely efficient in terms of use of resources, causes nearly no pollution and can be constructed using inexpensive materials like old barrels, pipes, brick, clay, and other isolation materials.
