WHAT?
WORKSHOP OF STC / EARTHBAG BUILDING TECHNIQUE AND SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE

We invite you to attend these co-working days where we will LEARN and PRACTISE about EARTH BUILDINGS, ancient techniques and new ways to compete the conventional architecture.

Focused on STC technique (COMPACTED EARTH BAGS) also known as SUPERADOBE. We will test and practice the technique in a theoretical-practical course where we will crumble the technique to grant complete autonomy for the participants in their application; also identify it inside the wide variety of earth techniques within our reach, and inside the principles of construction with earth.

We will talk about WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE? and travel, by already executed projects, trhough the challenges, difficulties, advantages and disadvantages of these methods compared to conventional architecture.

WHO?
ARQEAS is a team of architects and craftsmen/woman specialized  in natural materials, with passion for vernacular architecture and craft techniques. Arqeas has a trajectory of more than 8 years studding, implementing, building and developing this thematic, and has made a variety of projects as also an official document for legalize this technique STC already in Spain in 2014.

WHAT ARE WE GONNA BUILD?
We will practice during these days in the walls of the future extension`s kitchen of Quinta dos 7 nomes. 
While we put our hands on the earth and try the concepts, we will create something together with a future use: Kitchen, as this is for us part of the sustainability.

Important THINGS to BRING
Strong boots, gloves, knife, hat for the strongest sun, something hot for the night, when it can be a lot colder than the day, and good mood!
