THE LAB.YRINTH begins a new chapter of its programme in March where it will provide a new approach to its artistic agenda. 

In 2025, the space will become a place for learning and sharing knowledge, hosting a curated programme of workshops led by artists from different fields - creating connection, inspiration and community in the heart of Porto.

We begin this new cycle with the Introduction to Ceramics workshop, led by the artist Inês Mendes.

ABOUT INÊS MENDES

Inês Mendes (Felgueiras, 2000) is a multidisciplinary artist, graduated in Fine Arts and Multimedia from FBAUP. She currently resides in Guimarães and works at Atelier Retiro.

In this space, she teaches ceramics and ethnographic studies of pottery. The artist brings from her education the pursuit of multidisciplinary artistic translations. She focuses on materials such as ceramics and iron, allowing her to revisit stories from the family environment, daily life, and tradition. Recently, she participated in collective exhibitions such as "As memórias dos Outros" (2024) at the Municipal Theatre of Guarda, "Premire" at the Meymac Contemporary Art Centre (2022), and at the Oliva Art Centre (2023). She exhibited individually "Sincretisma" at the Caldeiraria space, curated by Pedro Moreira (2024).

Em 2025, 0 espaço transformar-se-á num lugar de aprendizagem e partilha de conhecimento, acolhendo uma curadoria de workshops orientados por artistas de diversas áreas-criando conexão, inspiração e comunidade, no coração do Porto.

Iniciamos este novo ciclo com o workshop Introdução à Cerâmica, guiado pela artista Inês Mendes.

SOBRE INÊS MENDES

Inês Mendes (Felgueiras, 2000) é artista multidisciplinar, licenciada em Artes Plásticas, Multimédia na FBAUP, atualmente reside em Guimarães e trabalha no Atelier Retiro. Neste espaço realiza aulas de cerâmica e estudos etnográficos da olaria. A artista traz da sua educação a procura por traduções artísticas multidisciplinares. Foca-se em materiais como cerâmica e ferro, permitindo-lhe revisitar histórias do ambiente familiar, do quotidiano e do tradicional. Recentemente participou em exposições coletivas como “As memórias dos Outros” (2024) no Teatro Municipal da Guarda, “Premire” no Centro de Arte Contemporâneo de Meymac (2022) e Centro de Arte Oliva (2023). Expôs individualmente "Sincretisma" no espaço a Caldeiraria com curadoria de Pedro Moreira (2024).
