Sábado 23 celebramos o nascimento de His Imperial Majesty HAILE SELASSIE, a Julho de 1893 em Harer, Ethiopia. Baptizado como Tafari Makonnen, tendo-lhe sido posteriormente atribuído o cognome Rás Tafari, foi a personalidade mais crucial na história da Etiópia e de África. Orador talentoso, alguns dos seus discursos foram considerados entre os mais memoráveis da história do continente africano, foi tido como figura chave na emancipação do continente e da raça africana. A dar início à celebração e ocupar lugar de destaque no jardim, às 17h teremos um Encontro Nyabinghi seguido da selecção musical positiva e consciente pelas mãos de Bob Figurante & Sista Irie. Após as 19h, na sala da associação, teremos projecção de documentários sobre Haile Selassie e a Cultura/Filosofia Rastafari e às 20h será servido o jantar I-tal/Vegan, a 5€. Todos interessados em jantar, deverão fazer pagamento/reserva até às 23h59 de dia 22, de maneira a garantir refeição e evitar desperdícios.

Saturday 23rd we celebrate the birth of His Imperial Majesty HAILE SELASSIE, born in July 1893 in Harer, Ethiopia. Baptized as Tafari Makonnen and later given the epithet Ras Tafari, he was the most pivotal personality in the history of Ethiopia and Africa. A gifted speaker, some of his speeches have been considered among the most memorable in the history of the African continent, he was held to be a key figure in the emancipation of the continent and the African race. Starting the celebration and occupying a prominent place in the garden, at 5 pm we will have a Nyabinghi Encounter followed by a positive and conscious musical selection by Bob Figurante & Sista Irie. After 7 pm, in the association room, we will have a screening of documentaries about Haile Selassie and Rastafarian Culture/Philosophy and at 8 pm the I-tal/Vegan dinner will be served, at 5€.
Anyone interested in dining must make payment/reservation by 11:59 pm on the 22nd, in order to guarantee a meal and avoid waste.
