Improvisation Workshop - Body in playground

What if your body was a slide, or a wheel or a swing, and the combination of another body along with your body formed a teeter-totter and all bodies together formed a playground? How would you move in this imaginative playground? Now, what if I told you that you could only enter the merry go round blindfolded or that you would have to climb up a tower and then slide back down. Imagine playing hide and seek but instead of hiding behind walls, having to create hiding spots with the bodies you see in space. What if we could go back to those fun times, back to when we could play musical chairs and dance as children in a playground free of hassles and worries.
The workshop „Body in Playground’ focuses on improvisational tools that will help the personality of each dancer to emerge exploring one‟s authentic movement qualities. We will focus on the creation of scores based on playfulness and games, automatic writing, contact improvisation, trust exercises, exchange of balance and weight, exploring the relation between time and space. The workshop aims to break through fixed patterns and will be influenced by physical theatre and contemporary dance technique.
