MOTHS DRINK THE TEARS OF SLEEPING BIRDS #5 26 Novembro 2020, 16h-20h | Sessões às 18h e às 19h Entrada livre * Reservas: booking@zaratan.pt Moths drink the tears of sleeping birds propõe uma forma de itinerância construída por camadas, na qual praticam-se pequenos gestos de desvio subtil para sobreviver, adaptar-se, evoluir. Como a traça que paira por um instante em cima do pássaro, esses gestos configuram-se como curtos momentos de detalhes intensos, que a seguir desaparecem sem deixar vestígios. Para cada edição do ciclo, um cenário ou ambiente é temporariamente habitado para uma projeção, sobre a qual dois artistas são convidados a intervir. O material fílmico a ser exibido fornece o ponto de partida para o desenvolvimento do evento, e introduz os temas a serem explorados em cada evento: neste caso o itinerante e o desorientador. Os artistas convidados trabalham com as imagens e o som, as vezes com o próprio espaço. A forma como essas intervenções se cruzam é imprevisível, e tudo desaparece com o acabar da noite. Para a quinta edição os artistas Miguel Abras (PT) e Flora Bradwell (UK) irão intervir no espaço, onde serão exibidas 3 curtas: ‘Cat Food’ (1967)– Joyce Wieland ‘Trio’ (1978) – Yvonne Rainer ‘The Midnight Sun’ from the Twilight Zone (1961) Biografas: >>> MIGUEL ABRAS (Lisboa, 1992) desde cedo se interessa e forma, informal e auto-didaticamente, em artes audiovisuais e literárias, nomeadamente, Música (composição, produção, engenharia de som) e Poesia. Faz parte do colectivo lisboeta Cafetra Records, desde 2009. Integra vários projetos incluindo Putas Bêbadas, CAVEIRA e um projeto a solo. Fundou com Maria Reis a publicação independente ENGAJA, que publicou o seu caderno de poemas CADRASSO. >>> FLORA BRADWELL é um artista e curadora londrina, cuja pratica lúdica e grotesca engloba pintura, escultura, instalação, performance e vídeo. Flora expôs internacionalmente e colaborou na curadoria de projetos 'site-responsive', eventos performativos e exposições pelo Reno Unido. Destacam-se: “Hungry Boots”, Patio Project, London, (2020), “Slade Show”, Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, London (2020), European Media Arts Festival, Osnabruck (2018) e “Femmes Fantastique”, LSFF11, ICA, London (2014). Like the moth that hovers for an instant over the bird, these gestures lead to small, intense moments that subsequently disappear without a trace. Moths drink explores the ferocity of this. For each edition of the cycle a space is temporarily inhabited for a screening, into which two artists are invited to intervene. The material to be screened provides the raw material, and speaks to the themes of the cycle: leaning towards the itinerant and disorienting. The artists work into the images and sound, and maybe into the space itself. How these interventions come together cannot be foreseen. Crucially, everything dissolves at the end of the night. For the fifth edition artists Miguel Abras (PT) and Flora Bradwell (UK) will make interventions into the space, where we will be showing three short films: ‘Cat Food’ (1967)– Joyce Wieland ‘Trio’ (1978) – Yvonne Rainer ‘The Midnight Sun’ from the Twilight Zone (1961) Biographies: >>> MIGUEL ABRAS (Lisbon, 1992) from an early age, he became interested and formed, informally and self-didactically, in audiovisual and literary arts, namely, Music (composition, production, sound engineering) and Poetry. He has been part of the collective Cafetra Records in Lisbon since 2009. He integrates several projects including Putas Bêbadas, CAVEIRA and a solo project. He founded the independent publication ENGAJA with Maria Reis, publishing his notebook of poems CADRASSO. >>> FLORA BRADWELL is an artist and curator whose playful, generously grotesque practice encompasses painting, sculpture, installation, performance and moving image. Flora has exhibited internationally and collaborated in curating site responsive projects, performance events and exhibitions across the UK.
