FEMME Sessions #26 | Maus Hábitos

Chegou o dia em que regressamos às salas. Com responsabilidade, o MAUS HÁBITOS vai reabrir em Junho e teremos o regresso das FEMME SESSIONS com um novo formato: Cinema à Mesa. 

Para esta #26 sessão, que acontece no dia 10 às 21h00, as FEMME SESSIONS recebem o projeto BRIGHT SPOTS & PUSHING BOUNDARIES com as mais recentes animações pelas mãos de artistas australianas. 

Este projeto tem curadoria do Tricky Women/Tricky Realities Animation Festival em parceria com a Seção de Relações Culturais no Exterior e conta com o apoio do Ministério Federal Austríaco para a Europa, Integração e Negócios Estrangeiros que atribui grande importância ao papel das mulheres na arte e na sociedade. Esta cooperação tem resultado com sucesso há vários anos, apresentando os filmes de animação de artistas austríacas ou artistas femininas que vivem na Áustria mas que são de outras nacionalidades.

O programa de filmes Tricky Women compreende trabalhos de várias técnicas, de artistas femininas já estabelecidas e reconhecidas internacionalmente, bem como das próximas jovens cineastas de animação – as “estrelas em ascensão”. O que é particularmente notável nos filmes é o quão bem as artistas conseguem resumir, de forma breve e sucinta, tópicos político-sociais importantes. O título do programa, “Bright Spots & Pushing Boundaries” já indica a orientação artística dos filmes de animação.

Os dois programas anteriores já viajaram para 23 países e esperam que muitos novos destinos sejam adicionados e que os filmes femininos se tornem ainda mais visíveis.

 The day is coming.
The day we return to our favourite venues is here! With responsibility, MAUS HÁBITOS will re-open in June and our FEMME SESSIONS will return under a new format: Films at the Table.
For this #26 session, which happens on the 10th at 21pm, we receive the BRIGHT SPOTS & PUSHING BOUNDARIES project with the latest animations by the hands of Australian female artists.

In its international cultural work, the Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs attaches great importance to the role of women in art and society. The Section for Cultural Relations Abroad and the International Tricky Women Festival in Vienna have been cooperating successfully for a number of years, presenting the animated films of Austrian women artists or women artists living in Austria abroad. The Tricky Women/Tricky Realities Animation Festival program comprises works of various techniques by already established and internationally recognized women artists as well as by up-and-coming young animation filmmakers—our “rising stars”. What is particularly remarkable about the films is how well the artists succeed in briefly and succinctly summarizing socio-politically important topics. The title of the program, “Bright Spots & Pushing Boundaries” already indicates the artistic orientation of the animated films.

The two previous programs have already traveled to 23 countries and we hope that many new destinations will be added and that women‘s films will become even more visible.
