PT |  No dia 28 de maio, temos motivos para celebrar: assinalamos a 90.ª Sessão Femme no Maus Hábitos! 
 
 
Desde 2017, esta parceria tem reservado as últimas quartas-feiras de cada mês para dar palco ao cinema feito por mulheres. São já 8 anos, 90 sessões, dezenas de filmes, parcerias e pessoas convidadas que marcaram o nosso percurso. 
 
 
Para celebrar este marco, temos o prazer de apresentar os filmes premiados na Competição Nacional da 8.ª edição do Porto Femme – Festival Internacional de Cinema, que decorreu entre 7 e 13 de abril de 2025, no Porto. 
 
 
Esta sessão especial destaca cineastas portuguesas, dando visibilidade a narrativas marcantes que nos tocam. Convidamos todas as pessoas a juntarem-se a nós nesta noite especial dedicada ao cinema português, à criatividade e às vozes que moldam as narrativas contemporâneas.

EN |  On May 28th, we have reason to celebrate: we’re marking the 90th Femme Session at Maus Hábitos! 
 
 
Since 2017, this partnership has reserved the last Wednesday of each month to showcase cinema made by women. It’s been 8 years, 90 sessions, dozens of films, partnerships, and guests who have shaped our journey. 
 
 
To celebrate this milestone, we are delighted to present the award-winning films from the National Competition of the 8th edition of Porto Femme – International Film Festival, which took place from April 7th to 13th, 2025, in Porto. 
 
 
This special session shines a spotlight on Portuguese women filmmakers, bringing visibility to powerful narratives that deeply resonate. We invite everyone to join us for this special evening dedicated to Portuguese cinema, creativity, and the voices that shape contemporary storytelling.

Sinopse 
Maria Inês vive as primeiras brisas de amor numas férias de Verão. Acompanhada das amigas, passeia pelo bairro onde vive passando o tempo entre missangas e a rodagem de um filme. 
Biografia 
Tota Alves tem 34 anos e escreve para cinema e televisão desde 2018. Já realizou duas minisséries para a RTP (emissora pública portuguesa) e estreou no IndieLisboa o seu primeiro filme, Conseguimos fazer um filme, que ganhou o prémio do público de melhor curta-metragem. 
It Shouldn't Rain Tomorrow | Maria Trigo Teixeira | Portugal | 2024 | 11’16’’ | ANI 
Sinopse 
Sentindo que a mãe já não consegue viver sozinha, uma mulher volta para a sua casa de infância. Enquanto tenta adaptar-se à sua nova situação, a mãe parece mergulhar cada vez mais em si mesma. 
Biografia 
Maria Trigo Teixeira (Lisboa, 1990) é uma realizadora de animação sediada no Porto e Berlim. Formada em Design de Comunicação (FBAUP) e Animação (Film University Babelsberg), seu filme Inside Me (2019) venceu o Prêmio de Melhor Curta de Animação da Academia Alemã de Cinema e integrou a longlist dos Oscars. Programou o Shortcutz Berlin (2016-2021) e, em 2021, iniciou Amanhã Não Dão Chuva (2024) na NEF Animation Residency. O filme explora a relação entre mãe e filha e a finitude da vida. 
Nocturne for a Forest | Catarina Vasconcelos | Portugal | 2024	15’56’’ | EXP 
Sinopse 
No século XV, em Portugal, um grupo de monges ergueu um muro em redor de uma floresta e impediu a entrada das mulheres. Mas as mãos dos vivos nem tudo podem controlar: no mundo invisível, onde é de noite e apenas as almas iluminam a floresta, as mulheres construiram o seu reino, sem muros. 
Biografia 
Catarina Vasconcelos, portuguesa, nasceu em Lisboa em 1986. A sua primeira curta metragem “Metáfora ou a Tristeza Virada do Avesso” estreia em 2014 no Cinema du Réel, Paris, onde é distinguida como Melhor Curta-Metragem. A sua primeira longa documental, “A Metamorfose dos Pássaros”, estreou em 2020 na 70ª Berlinale, secção Encounters, onde recebe a primeira de 40 distinções, o Prémio FIPRESCI. “Nocturno para uma Floresta” estreia no 76º Festival de Locarno, Pardi di Domani - Corto d’Autore.

Sinopse 
Num apartamento de uma cidade em confinamento, um dia expande-se entre o início da primavera e o fim do verão. Um casal vive um desencontro. Enquanto Alba procura no interior da casa um sentimento de otimismo, Xavier evade-se no jardim, onde se dedica a uma horta. Aí faz amizade com uma criança. Estes encontros quase-oníricos acordam nele o alento, mas também os maiores fantasmas. 
Biografia 
Mónica Lima (n. Lisboa) estudou Artes-plásticas/pintura em Lisboa, e Escrita e Realização em Praga (FAMU) e Berlim (DFFB). As suas curtas metragens “O silêncio entre duas canções”, “Viktoria” e “Verão Saturno”, foram exibidas em diversos festivais internacionais e nacionais (Angers Premiers Plans, Leuven, Dresden, Vila do Conde, i.a.) e distinguidas com prémios e menções. O seu filme de graduação “Natureza Humana” fez parte da seleção oficial do International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023, onde recebeu o prémio Ammodo Tiger Short. Ao longo do seu percurso académico estudou escrita e realização com Valeska Grisebach, Fred Kelemen, Franz Rodenkirchen, i.a.. Profissionalmente tem trabalhado como argumentista e script advisor, assim como assistente de realização e formadora nas áreas da realização e escrita de argumento. Encontra-se atualmente a desenvolver a sua primeira longa-metragem de ficção que recebeu apoio financeiro para Escrita e Desenvolvimento do ICA, tendo sido ainda selecionada para as residências de Escrita e Realização do Oxbelly Lab (Sundance/Faliro House) e Escrita para Cinema Hoje da Fundação Gulbenkian.

Synopsis 
Maria Inês experiences the first breezes of love during a summer vacation. Accompanied by her friends, she strolls through the neighborhood where she lives, spending her time between beads and a movie shoot. 
Biography 
Tota Alves is 34 years old and has been writing for film and television since 2018. She has directed two miniseries for RTP (the Portuguese public broadcaster) and premiered her first film, We Made a Film, at IndieLisboa, which won the audience award for best short film.

Synopsis 
Feeling that her mother can no longer live alone, a woman returns to her childhood home. While trying to adapt to her new situation, the mother seems to sink deeper and deeper into herself. 
Biography 
Maria Trigo Teixeira (Lisbon, 1990) is an animation filmmaker based in Porto and Berlin. She studied Communication Design (FBAUP) and Animation (Film University Babelsberg). Her film Inside Me (2019) won the German Film Academy Award for Best Animated Short and was longlisted for the Oscars. She programmed Shortcutz Berlin (2016-2021) and, in 2021, began developing It Shouldn’t Rain Tomorrow (2024) at the NEF Animation Residency. The film explores the relationship between a mother and daughter and the finiteness of life. 
Nocturne for a Forest | Catarina Vasconcelos | Portugal | 2024	15’56’’ | EXP 
Synopsis 
In the 15th century, in Portugal, a group of monks built a wall around a forest and prevented the entry of women. But the hands of the living cannot control everything: in the invisible world, where night reigns and only souls light up the forest, women have built their kingdom of invisibility, without walls. 
Biography 
Catarina Vasconcelos, born in Lisbon in 1986, is a Portuguese filmmaker whose debut short-film “Metaphor or Sadness Inside Out” premiered in 2014 at Cinema du Réel, where it was distinguished as Best Short Film. Her debut feature documentary “The Metamorphosis of Birds” premiered in 2020 at the Encounters program of the 70th Berlinale, where it receives the first of 40 prizes, the FIPRESCI Award. “Nocturne For a Forest” premiered at the Pardi di Domani - Corto d’Autore of the 76th Locarno Film Festival.

Synopsis 
In an apartment in a city under curfew, a day expands from early Spring to late Summer. A couple experiences a disconnect. While Alba searches for a feeling of optimism in the interior of the house, Xavier escapes out into the garden, where he dedicates himself to cultivating a vegetable garden. There, he befriends a child. These dreamlike encounters awaken hope in him, but also the biggest fears. 
Biography 
Mónica Lima (b. Lisbon) studied Visual Arts in Lisbon, and Writing and Directing in Prague (FAMU) and Berlin (DFFB). Her short films “The silence between two songs”, “Viktoria” and “Summer Saturn” have been shown in various international film festivals (Angers Premiers Plans, Leuven, Dresden, Vila do Conde, i.a.) and won various awards and mentions. Her graduation film “Natureza Humana” was part of the official selection of the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2023, where it received the Ammodo Tiger Short Award. During her training years, she studied writing and directing with Valeska Grisebach, Fred Kelemen, Franz Rodenkirchen, i.a. Professionally has been working as a scriptwriter and script advisor, as well as an assistant director and lecturer of directing and screenwriting classes. She is currently developing her first feature-length original screenplay, which has received financial support for Writing and Development from ICA and took part in the Oxbelly Writing and Directing Lab (Sundance/ Faliro House) and Writing Cinema Today of the Foundation Calouste Gulbenkian.
