Em Cesena, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker e a sua companhia Rosas trabalharam em estreita colaboração com o belga Björn Schmelzer e o seu ensemble Graindelavoix para criar um mundo de mistério e rituais. A Culturgest volta, assim, a apresentar uma criação desta companhia, após Os Seis Concertos Brandeburgueses. Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker/ Rosas iriam regressar à nossa sala, no próximo mês de maio, para apresentar A Love Supreme, espetáculo que será realizado em data a anunciar brevemente. A peça pode ser vista como um espelho de En Atendant — ambas apresentadas pela primeira vez no Festival de Avignon, em 2011, como um díptico que partem da corrente de vanguarda musical do século XIV, Ars Subtilior. Se em En Atendant o foco está na partitura e na noite, Cesena concentra-se no início, na luz e no efeito dramático e emocional da música. Dezanove bailarinos e cantores exploram os limites das suas habilidades ao ponto de se fundirem, sendo impossível distinguir quem faz o quê. Em palco, música e movimento deslocam-se como um todo, deixando um rasto físico e emocional. O resultado é uma escultura da constante transformação do que nos rodeia e que só se torna visível com a passagem do tempo. O início de um novo dia ou um novo olhar para um passado distante. The live streaming webcast is available on Culturgest’s Facebook and YouTube until April 30. Cesena is the creation of a world of mystery and rituals, it is the result of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas close collaboration with Björn Schmelzer and his Graindelavoix ensemble. After the “The Six Brandenburg Concertos” [Os Seis Concertos Brandeburgueses], Culturgest will once again present a creation by this company. Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas were to return to Culturgest in May with A Love Supreme. This show will now take place on a new date to be announced soon. This piece might be viewed as a mirror creation of En Atendant – both pieces were presented for the first time at the Avignon Festival as a diptych that springs from Ars Subtilior, the 14th century vanguard musical style. Whereas in En Atendant the twilight merged almost imperceptibly into night, Cesena heralds the start of the day and on the music’s dramatic and emotional effect. Nineteen dancers and singers explore the limits of their ability to a point were it becomes impossible to differentiate who is doing what. On stage, music and movement play as a whole leaving behind physical and emotional trace that forms a sculpture of passing time, of the constant transformation of what is around us and of what only becomes visible in the course of time.
