A intervenção de Daniela Grabosch explora a relação entre a força racional que rege a vida contemporânea e os desafios colocados pela arte e pela filosofia perante novos sentidos e formas de empatia.

Ao aplicar uma fragrância n' A Gruta, Grabosch expande a experiência ao uso de um sentido que começa lentamente a ser usado na arte contemporânea. O processo pelo qual a informação olfactiva é codificada no cérebro, permitindo a sua percepção, ainda está a ser investigada, e não é ainda totalmente compreendida. Sabe-se que, através do olfacto, evitamos a via rápida entre o olhar e a racionalização, o que satisfaz o desejo deste projecto de despertar novas formas sensitivas, de expandir os sentidos e de criar novas formas de compreensão e de experiência da arte.

Grabosch desenvolve o seu trabalho artístico através de novos sentidos, que são activados por máquinas e programas - de digitalizações 3D e impressão 3D, a Apps para telemóveis -  situados dentro das fronteiras do racional. Importa como, dentro da opacidade do seu trabalho, os artistas estão a oferecer resistência e a transformar estes programas, ao expandir possibilidades no modo como novas formas de literacia nos estão a moldar e a transformar as nossas subjectividades.
 
Este momento d' A Gruta será celebrado com a presença da artista no sábado, dia 14 de Dezembro, entre as 16 e as 19 horas.

Daniela Grabosch é uma artista que vive e trabalha em Viena e cuja prática performativa se move entre meios físicos e digitais. Mestre em Arte Performativa pela Academia de Belas Artes de Viena e licenciada em Belas Artes e Media Digitais pelo Hochschule Düsseldorf. Exposições recentes incluem: We Remember, Off Site Project, online; Hydrobutter, Gomo; Animated_Currency_01, Suzie Shride, Viena (2019); Vie X Mrs, South Way Studio, Marselha (2018); Saló, Salzburger Kunstverein, Salzburg (2017); Voyage #01, Rua Dom Pedro V, Lisboa (2016); Objective. The Artist Is Absent, Kunstraum Niederösterreich, Viena (2016); Imagetanz, Brut, Viena (2015); Super Looper, Chambre D’Amis, Viena (2014); Post-Porn and Body Politix, VBKÖ, Viena (2012); and In 3, 3rd International Scenographers Performance Festival, Basel (2010). Em 2015 recebeu o prémio Birgit Jürgenssen Preis, pela Divisão de Arte e Cultura da Chancelaria Federal da Áustria, pela Academia de Belas Artes de Viena e pela Galerie Hubert Winter. Grabosch é co-fundadora do projecto curatorial YYYYMMDD e, desde 2019, membro da Associação Austríaca de Artistas Mulheres (VBKÖ).

The intervention of Daniela Grabosch opens up questions that deal with the relation between the rational force that drives our contemporary life and the challenges posed by art and philosophy towards new senses and forms of empathy in our contemporary life.

Grabosch' s application of a scent in The Grotto, opens the experience to the use of a sense that slowly starts to be more frequently used in contemporary art. The process by which olfactory information is coded in the brain to allow for proper perception is still being researched, and is not completely understood. What we can understand is that, through the sense of smell, we are avoiding the highway between the eye and the rational, which fulfills  the desire of this project to trigger new forms of sensation, to expand our senses, to build new forms of understanding and experience art.

Grabosch’ s work develops her artistic work within new senses triggered by machines and programs - from 3D Scan, 3D printing, App’s for smartphones, all programs within the rational. What matters here is how artists within the opacity of their work, offer resistance and transform these programs by opening new possibilities to the way new forms of literacy are shaping us, transforming our subjectivities. 

This moment of The Grotto will be celebrated with the presence of the artist on Saturday the 14th of December from 4 to 7 pm.

Daniela Grabosch is a Vienna based artist whose performative practice migrates back and forth between digital and physical mediums. She holds an MFA in Performative Art from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and a BFA in Fine Arts and Digital Media from Hochschule Düsseldorf. Recent exhibitions include: We Remember, Off Site Project, online; Hydrobutter, Gomo; Animated_Currency_01, Suzie Shride, Vienna (2019); Vie X Mrs, South Way Studio, Marseille (2018); Saló, Salzburger Kunstverein, Salzburg (2017); Voyage #01, Rua Dom Pedro V, Lisbon (2016); Objective.
