Inicialmente, Shojin Ryori era uma meditação zen para purificar o corpo e a mente. Sho significa "concentrar-se, Jin" "para avançar" ou "progredir no caminho". Shojin significa um processo de meditação contínua e Ryori é a palavra para cozinhar / culinária e, às vezes, traduzida para 'avanço da mente através da comida'. Shojin Ryori é uma manifestação do preceito budista geral de ahimsa ou não-violência. Initially Shojin Ryori meant as a Zen meditation to purify body and mind. Sho means “to concentrate, Jin “”to go forward”or “to progress along the path”. Shojin means a process of continuous meditation and Ryori is the word for cooking/cuisine and sometimes translated to ‘advancement of the mind through food’.
