A PHLORYSTA convida cordialmente a vossa presença na inauguração da sua quinta edição, intitulada Alexandria Alexandrou.
Tomando lugar no Mercado do Rato, este converter-se-á temporariamente num espaço de exposição para 7 artistas convidados a mostrar o seu trabalho inserido na arquitectura sui generis do mercado.
A PHLORYSTA é uma iniciativa cultural independente produzida e com a curadoria de João Viotti, cujo foco é o alavancar de uma produção artística paralela aos circuitos normativos, apresentando-se como alternativa aos moldes desses mesmos circuitos.

No espírito das bibliotecas extintas, irão ser apresentadas várias publicações independentes nas quais os artistas convidados também participaram, juntamente com o lançamento de um calendário para 2020, produzido na sequência da edição anteriormente realizada - HyperMercado.

A inauguração irá contar com ambientes sonoros proporcionados pelo músico Cadabé, seguido de um dj-set e uma grelhada, levada a cabo pelos donos dos dois restaurantes existentes no mercado - um restaurante para a bifana e outro para a sardinha.

PHLORYSTA cordially invites you for the opening of its fifth installment, entitled "Alexandria Alexandrou".
Taking place inside Mercado do Rato, it will once again become a temporary exhibition space for the 7 invited artists to show their work inserted into the marketplace's iconic architecture.
PHLORYSTA is an independent cultural initiative produced and curated by João Viotti, which is focused on engaging forms of artistic production parallel to standardized circuits, presenting itself as an alternative to said circuits.

In the spirit of lost libraries, there will be some independent publications of which the invited artists have participated in, as well as the launch of a calendar for the coming year of 2020, subsequently produced as an extension of the previous edition of PHLORYSTA - HyperMercado.

The opening will contain ambient soundscapes by the musician Cadabé, and also include an informal dj-set accompanied by a late-night barbecue, held by the owners of the two restaurants from the marketplace - one for meat and the other for fish.
