Journey Into True Manhood is a 9 months program for Men. For these 9 months we gather, we circle, we walk together this path of a modern initiation into fully belonging in our community and into owning the responsibilities and privileges of mature adulthood. We meet once every month around the time of the new moon to focus in our life intentions and purpose. Each of the 9 sessions will have a new action, they will be challenges with a very high reward. Connect to a brotherhood of conscious Men, reclaim your healthy power, become your greatest potential as a man, a father, a partner and a friend. Learn to support yourself and others, be welcomed to a true brotherhood beyond friendship, affirm your life and rediscover your passion. We will grow together. We will call each other on our shadow. We will give ourselves a lesson in emotional maturity. The Men's Sweatlodge We begin our journey by taking ourselves back to where it all begins. The Sweatlodge (or Temascal as it is also known) represents the womb of Mother Earth. It is where we go to be reborn, where we are renewed and purified by our prayers and by our humble devotion to serve all our relations. It is where we can create a strong intention for this great journey we are going on together, and where we can begin to bond ourselves into a brotherhood. It is where we can ask to have our intentions blessed by God, by Great Spirit, by the Universe. By the great mystery that is Life itself. First we will work together to construct the lodge, selecting the young trees and cutting them with a prayer of gratitude, before we bend them into shape and tie them together with cord. The structure is then covered with blankets. Once it is made we will collect the firewood and build our fire, placing the stones inside with a prayer for each one, to invite into the ceremony the energies that we would like to support us in our transformation. Then the fire is lit and as it heats the stones we use this time to align ourselves in preparation for our entry into the lodge.. After the ceremony is closed we will spend the evening around the fire together, to explore a little of our inner worlds, sharing songs and stories, and working with some of the emotions that have arisen during the day. We will meet at the site at 10am and stay until late.
