CITAR-Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts and The Planetary Collegium is pleased to announce the 21st International Consciousness Reframed Conference, to be held at Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto, from June 6-8, 2019.

Titled «Sentient States: Bio-mind and Techno-nature», Consciousness Reframed is a forum for trans-disciplinary inquiry into art, science, technology, and consciousness, drawing upon the expertise and insights of artists, designers, architects, performers, musicians, writers, scientists, and scholars, from many countries. Consciousness Reframed conferences have taken place in Australia, Austria, China, England, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Norway, Portugal, and Wales.

Topics for the 2019 Consciousness Reframed Conference
The conference will look at the nature of artificial thought, and forms of intelligence in nature - charted through aspects of transdisciplinary creative practice and theory in our planetary culture.
Just as new paradigms of feeling and communication are beginning to form around our interaction with life at all levels of our perception, from plants and trees to fungi and bacteria, we may see matter as inhabited mind, media as necessarily moist, and technology as a tool of the Tao.
Thought is spreading through all our systems, places and products. We need cities that are not only smart but sensitive: schools that think, roads that remember, buildings that feel. art that is as much extra-sensory as interpersonal.
Our consciousness is both reframing and reforming.

Submissions will be done using EasyChair: (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=cr2019).

We will accept proposals for:
· Paper (15 mins - a presentation of a single paper by one or more authors - 500 word abstract).

Once your abstract is accepted, and you register for the conference, your communication will appear in the Conference Program and your abstract will be published in the Book of Abstracts.

If you intend to have your full paper published, you should send a full version of it by the end of February. Proceedings of the Consciousness Reframed conference will be published in Technoetic Arts Journal of Speculative Research.
