No dia 16 de Fevereiro iremos conhecer as esplendorosas cascatas de Paredes em Mortágua, e calcorrear o fantástico percurso que segue a Ribeira de Paredes (também conhecida como ribeira dos moinhos) acompanhando as pequenas quedas de água que encontramos na mata de Castanheiros, Carvalhos e Sobreiros. Inscrição/Signing-up http://rocknwalk.pt/event/cascatas-mortagua/ Após iniciar o percurso junto à ponte das Laceiras, entramos na mata onde somos engolidos pelo verde destas magníficas árvores autóctones, que testemunham a passagem dos tempos sobre os vários moinhos de água, dos quais aqui apenas jazem as suas ruínas. Esta é uma evidência da sua importância para a cultura do milho que constituia não só a base da alimentação do gado, como se apresentava também à mesa das pessoas sob a forma de carolos com carne. Aproximamo-nos de Paredes após passarmos o lavadouro da roupa, e subimos para a aldeia onde observamos a presença do xisto na arquitetura tradicional, os recantos paisagísticos e os habitantes da aldeia nas lides domésticas ou do campo. Deixando a aldeia e subindo o monte, chegamos às magníficas Quedas de Água das Paredes, com as suas várias gargantas de água que se precipitam do cimo da serra e desaguam em pequenas lagoas naturais. É tempo de voltarmos até ao ponto inicial, caminhando em estradão largo e por alcatrão até às Laceiras. On February the 16th, we will visit the splendid Paredes waterfalls in Mortágua, and visit the magnificent course that follows the Ribeira de Paredes (also known as watermills creek), following the small waterfalls found in the forest of Chestnut, Oak and Cork Oak trees. After starting the route along the Laceiras bridge, we enter the forest where we are swallowed by the green of these magnificent native trees, which witness the passage of time to the many old water mills that left their remains of stone here. This is evidence of its importance for the corn crop, which was not only the basis of cattle feed, but also presented at the table of people in the form of “carolos” with meat. We approache Paredes, and into the village we can see the presence of the shale in the traditional architecture, the landscape and the villagers in the household or the countryside. Leaving the village and going up the hill, we arrive at the magnificent Waterfalls of Paredes, with its several water gorges that precipitate from the top of the mountain range and pour into small natural lagoons. It is time to go back to the starting point, walking on a dirt roads and asphalt on our way to Laceiras. Passaremos aqui e ali sobre rocha polida que poderá estar escorregadia caso chova, e teremos de calcorrear sobre pedras em mato denso, saltitando sobre o ribeiro algumas vezes para seguir o trilho marcado. / The course is of DEMANDING difficulty due to the type of fterrain and not due to distance nor elevation. We will walk here and there on polished rock that may be slippery in the event of rain, and we will have to step on stones in a dense bush, skipping over the creek a few times to follow the marked trail. Casaco quente e impermeável será apropriado. / Appropriate waterproof footwear with tracking rubber and farnel for lunch, as well as water for the entire duration of the program.
