Exploring Inner Space with Luke Jordan

Exploring Inner Space with Luke Jordan

Luke Jordan is one of a small number of teachers in the world Certified to share the advanced teachings of the traditional Ashtanga Yoga method as it was taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and continues to be passed on by Sharath Jois.

Luke first came to the practise in 2000 after a period of deep personal inquiry and involvement with alternative spiritual practises. From the first Ujjayi breath, Luke was hooked and soon found his way to Mysore, India to practise with Guruji (K P Jois).

Since then Luke has been travelling internationally giving classes, workshops and seeking out teachers who can deepen his understanding of this mysterious thing called ‘yoga’ on both a physical level and the spiritual.

Luke holds a Masters degree in Indian Religion and seeks in his teachings to combine the physical and philosophical elements of Yoga to make a greater whole.

DURING THESE SPECIAL COURSE OF 3 WEEKS

Luke Jordan will be presenting :

Exploring Inner Space: Rediscovering the Meaning of Yoga
We are being continually drawn out of ourselves in order to get, achieve and obtain. It is part of the game of modern life. Even the ancient yoga tradition has been distorted through this modern lens. By being separated from its philosophical roots it too has become about ‘getting’, ‘achieving’ and ‘obtaining’. Encouraged by constant exposure to images of ‘perfected’ postures we think ahead, grasping at whatever technique is at our disposal to get what it is we think we want. We reach outwards, away from ourselves.
This workshop is not one of those workshops. We will instead use the techniques of Ashtanga yoga to reverse the outward flow, to feel deeper within, to explore the terrain of inner space and to come, eventually, to rest and move within that which is already given: ourselves just as we are in the given moment. We will re-unite the practise with its meaningful roots in our open exploration of what this thing called yoga actually is.
