Em 1994, motivado pela então emergente cena de música de dança nacional, Miguel Torga, começa por experimentar manipulação áudio com um tracker / sampler, o que - à medida que a curiosidade aumenta - o leva a explorar as várias técnicas de síntese de som e patch design. Em 2010 edita o seu primeiro ep na luso-alemã Con+ainer Music. Seguem-se edições na freima labs, Aroma Music, 1980 e Elements Recs. Nesta última, editou, recentemente, o muito bem recebido álbum 'Hexágono Amoroso' que tem tido uma presença assídua em rádios nacionais e internacionais. Pontuada por paisagens hipnóticas e ritmos intensamente físicos, a sua obra tem como conceito principal produzir música electrónica em português: techno e house com identidade nacional. As suas actuações ao vivo já foram bailadas por todo o país. Daí, podem destacar-se locais como o Lux Frágil, Boiler Room Lisboa, Boom Festival, Gare, Industria e MusicBox. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- English: Miguel Torga is born in Alentejo, Portugal. Until the age of twelve he climbs trees and chases snakes and crickets. This is when he discovers electronic music through EBM - Electronic Body Music, industrial and other milk derivatives. In 1994, driven by the portuguese dance music scene of those days, he starts by trying out audio manipulation with the aid of a tracker \ sampler, which as curiosity grows, leads him to sound synthesis experimentation and patch design. It’s out of this sonic experimentation - allowed by synthesizers, samplers and effect processors – that Miguel Torga starts to compose and produce the hypnotic soundscapes and the rather physical rhythms that inhabit his music. His body of work has as motto to make electronic dance music in portuguese: techno and house with portuguese indentity. Such identity is established by the use of portuguese vocals, audio samples from portuguese films and poetry and the continuous allusion to portuguese national symbols. His music has been released by Aroma Music from Berlin, Freima Labs from portugal and Con+ainer Music from Hamburg \ Porto. He has been remixed by the eletronic music veteran AlexFx and by the amazing portuguese new comers Trikk and Cleymoore.
