PT | Entre os próximos dias 3 e 11 de Junho (e adicionalmente 17 de Junho), a Covilhã volta a acolher o WOOL | Covilhã Arte Urbana, numa edição que terá como protagonistas reconhecidos artistas urbanos, nacionais e estrangeiros e um conjunto de acções que tratão nova vida ao centro histórico desta cidade. Após o interregno de um ano, o centro histórico da cidade será novamente o palco de actuação dos artistas BOSOLETTI (Argentina), DOA OA (Espanha), HALFSTUDIO e THIRD (Portugal), que nos brindarão com trabalhos onde as temáticas e inspirações se prenderão com o todo que compõe o território histórico, social, arquitectónico, cultural e/ou natural único desta região, sendo precisamente esta uma das consequências e características de diferenciação este evento. Para além da execução de MURAIS e INSTALAÇÃO, que poderão (e deverão) ser acompanhados diariamente pelo público, esta edição 2017 do WOOL apresenta uma programação complementar diversificada, que pretende complementar e potenciar o elo de ligação entre o público, as obras e os artistas participantes. Entre as várias actividades, teremos de destacar as 2 (duas) EXPOSIÇÕES : WOOL PIECES e WOOL MEETS ROUBAIX, que pretendem apresentar respectivamente, o trabalho (a outra escala) dos artistas presentes nesta e nas anteriores edições do WOOL e a 1º fase do projecto que se está a desenvolver em parceria com o espaço criativo Le Non Lieu, em Roubaix (cidade geminada da Covilhã, em França); as CONVERSAS COM OS ARTISTAS onde, na primeira pessoa, os artistas se apresentam à comunidade e abrem espaço ao diálogo; o LATA 65, o internacionalmente reconhecido e viral Workshop de Arte Urbana para Idosos, que curiosamente, se realiza pela primeira vez na cidade que inspirou a sua criação e as habituais VISITAS GUIADAS que permitem ao visitante conhecer o projecto, os artistas e as obras em pormenor. Destacamos ainda, a projecção do FILME de Jérôme Thomas, SKY’S THE LIMIT, já premiado um pouco por toda a Europa e que integra filmagens da edição 2015 do WOOL, recolhidas pelo realizador local Tiago Pinheira. Para encerrar esta 1º semana de WOOL, convidámos o NOISERV para realizar um concerto num dos espaços identitários da cidade, a Fábrica António Estrela / Júlio Afonso, hoje transformada em espaço criativo e multidisciplinar, o New Hand Lab. A primeira parte desta acção, será assegurada por uma banda residente, o Colectivo Profound Whatever, que irão musicar excertos do filme "El Topo" do Alejandro Jodorowsky. No dia 17 DE JUNHO, para um encerramento apoteótico, voltamos a percorrer as ruas do centro histórico da Covilhã e convidamos para esta acção toda a comunidade local, interessados e visitantes para descobrir todos os novos trabalhos e os que se mantêm desde 2011. Damos também espaço a um INSTAMEET, orientado pela comunidade de Castelo Branco e apresentaremos o FILME que documenta esta edição 2017, realizado pelo André C. Santos. Terminaremos desta forma a edição 2017, celebrando e relembrando a atribuição do selo de qualidade EFFE _ Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europa (promovido pela Associação Europeia de Festivais _ EFA), pelo facto do WOOL se tratar de um “festival representativo de qualidade artística e com impacto significativo a nível local, nacional e internacional”. A concretização da edição 2017 do WOOL é só possível graças a um conjunto de parceiros e apoios, nacionais e internacionais, entre os que se destacam o financiamento do Município da Covilhã e o patrocínio do Puralã – Wool Valley Hotel & Spa (Grupo Natura IMB Hotels) e as tintas CIN. EN | Between the 3rd and 11th of June (and additionally the 17th), Covilhã returns to host WOOL | Covilhã Urban Art, in an edition that will have as protagonists recognized urban artists, national and international and a set of actions that will bring new life to the historical center of this city. Among the various activities, we must highlight the two exhibitions: WOOL PIECES and WOOL MEETS ROUBAIX, which aim to present, respectively, the work (on another scale) of the artists present in this and previous editions of WOOL and the first phase of the project which is being developed in partnership with the creative space Le Non Lieu in Roubaix (semi-detached city of Covilhã, France); The TALKS WITH THE ARTISTS where, in the first person, artists present themselves to the community and open space for dialogue; the LATA 65, the internationally recognized and viral Urban Art Workshop for the Elderly, curiously, is held for the first time in the city that inspired its creation and the usual GUIDED VISITS that allow the visitor to know all about the project, artists and artworks in detail. Also worthy of note are the screening of Jérôme Thomas' FILM, SKY'S THE LIMIT, which has already been awarded in Europe and includes footage from the 2015 edition of WOOL, collected by local director Tiago Pinheira. To close this first week of WOOL, we invited NOISERV to hold a concert in one of the city's identity spaces, the Fábrica António Estrela / Júlio Afonso, now transformed into a creative and multidisciplinary space, the New Hand Lab. Assured by a resident band, the Collective Profound Whatever, that will music excerpts from the film "El Topo" by Alejandro Jodorowsky. On June 17, for an apotheosis closing, we return to the streets of the historic center of Covilhã and invite all the local community, interested and visitors to discover all the new works and those that have been here since 2011.
