OREN AMBARCHI
Compositor e multi-instrumentista australiano, em actividade desde meados da década de 90, primordialmente interessado na exploração da guitarra eléctrica e a sua recontextualização tímbrica quando operada sob o prisma da electrónica. Senhor de uma discografia rica e vasta em selos fundamentais da música experimental contemporânea como a Touch, Editions Mego ou Tzadik, e habitual colaborador dos Sunn O))), Keiji Haino ou Jim O’Rourke, foi com estes dois últimos que registou em parceria o álbum ‘Now While It Is Still Warm Let Us Pour In All The Mystery’ este ano publicado na Black Truffle, editora que também lançou ‘Cat’s Squirrel’, gravação em concerto de um duo com Merzbow.

Nome de referência de toda e qualquer forma musical nascida em Portugal nos últimos 20 anos, Rafael Toral tem vindo a descrever um fascinante e idiossincrático percurso. Dos seus primeiros trabalhos nos Pop D'ell Arte até ao recente Space Program (cuja evolução, desde praticamente o seu início, temos vindo a testemunhar em várias edições do OUT.FEST), Toral tem vindo a pavimentar uma obra única em território ainda por explorar. Reconhecido além-fronteiras como um dos nomes mais influentes da contemporaneidade, Rafael Toral é uma peça indispensável na construção do mosaico da música experimental, num reduto único onde as barreiras entre orgânico e electrónico, composição e improviso são constantemente desafiadas. 
Na sua 3ª passagem pelo OUT.FEST, teremos oportunidade de acolher uma variação ainda pouco explorada do seu Space Collective – um duo totalmente dedicado a instrumentos electrónicos, em parceria com Ricardo Webbens.

OREN AMBARCHI
Australian composer and multi-instrumentalist, in activity since the mid 90’s, he is primarily interested in the exploration of the electric guitar and its timbric recontextualisation when operated under the prism of electronica. Oren has a vast and diverse discography published on essential labels of contemporary experimental music such as Touch, Editions Mego or Tzadik, and is a frequent collaborator of Sunn O))), Keiji Haino or Jim O’Rourke, and it was with these last two whom he recorded the album ‘Now While It Is Still Warm Let Us Pour In All The Mystery’ this year released on Black Truffle, label that also launched ‘Cat’s Squirrel’, recording of a live show of a duo with Merzbow.

Pivotal figure in each and every musical form born out of Portugal for the past 20 years, Rafael Toral has been developing a fascinating and utterly unique body of work. Since his first appearances with the legendary Pop De’ll Arte, to his recent Space Program (whose development OUT.FEST has accompanied practically since its inception), Toral has been paving his way through unchartered territory, becoming, in the process, one of the most influential contemporary names worldwide, and a fundamental piece in a mosaic of experimental music where distinctions between organic and electronic, composition and improvisation are constantly challenged.
In this 3rd time at OUT.FEST, we’ll have the opportunity to witness a seldom explored variation of his Space Collective duo formation, fully devoted to electronic instruments, with Toral teaming up with Ricardo Webbens.
