(PT) Simpósio RETHINKING PHOTOGRAPHY: CAN PHOTOGRAPHY MAKE A CHANGE? A 26. (ENG) Symposium RETHINKING PHOTOGRAPHY: CAN PHOTOGRAPHY MAKE A CHANGE? The big debut of this edition dedicated to Happiness is the Symposium "RETHINKING PHOTOGRAPHY", which counts with the presence of artists from different areas of photography invited to share projects that make us question and understand the world in a different way. It also aims to explore the ideas that set the contemporary thought. Built under a set of representations that involve the place of photography in contemporary societies, this Symposium aims to throw clues about some of the most pertinent reflections related to the pursuit of happiness, and the power of photography. An international group of lecturers will explore the power of the image and portray these times of great turning for photography, by the desire to capture the world questioning the present time representations. Artists, historians and curators review the place of photography nowadays and, through their speeches, we will get to know the cultural and scientific practices that help us to think about the current representations of photography, and the restrains in our roads to happiness. This multidisciplinary gathering will explore topics ranging from the impact of technology in our lives, to documentary projects on the new ways of life in the pursuit of happiness, going through the autobiographical projects, which all question the power of photography in contemporary times. In this 26th Edition's Symposium we aim to introduce several authors, who explore their most impressive interpretations about Photography and Happiness through their multiple visual perspectives. This edition's theme is entrenched in documentary and authorial photography, and it is open to artistic and aesthetic interpretations, both challenging and innovative.
