'Knocking on Heaven's Door' - Bob Dylan Night

"Knocking on Heaven's Door" - Bob Dylan Night

"A song is like a dream, and you try to make it come true. They're like strange countries that you have to enter" Bob Dylan, Chronicles

Please, join us for a unique musical evening dedicated to Bob Dylan's stunning songs. Launched as a candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1997, Bob Dylan is recognised worldwide for being one of the most complex and fascinating singer-songwriters of all times. Christopher Ricks argues that Dylan’s lyrics not only qualify as poetry, but that Dylan is among the finest poets of all time, on the same level as Milton, Keats, and Tennyson!

As arguably the most influential character in the modern folk musical canon, and someone who still regularly releases new albums while spending over 100 nights a year on the road, his life is rich in detail and ripe with anecdotes and encounters that beg for further assessment.

Just like our previous Book Club event, also this one will be lively and interactive. Some passionate musicians will be playing original cover versions of Dylan's songs and then, after each performance, we’re also going to have sparkling discussions about them (we can share our ideas about the lyrics, the performance, and ask the musicians all kinds of questions).

The event “Knocking on Heaven's Door” is organised in collaboration with writer Peter Murphy, who came up with this brilliant idea, and the lovely café Folhas d'Erva, that welcomed our initiative with so much enthusiasm!
