WHAT & HOW

A paste-up (or wheatpaste) is an artwork created on paper and then glued to a wall, fence, or other public structure.

The Process: Artists design their work in the studio (using acrylics,pens, printing, drawing, or digital printing). We use a simple adhesive, like wallpaper paste or wheatpaste, to attach the paper to outdoor surfaces. Paste-ups allow artists to prepare highly detailed or large-scale artwork in advance and put it up quickly in public spaces without dealing with the mess or time constraints of spray painting.

For the workshop:

We are going to learn how to make a paste up from scratch, painting with spray and pens on newspapers , and put them on the wall alongside amazing 30 (inter)national artists that submitted their art work too!

Venha aprender a arte de paste-up !

Em conjunto com 30 artistas (inter)nacionais faremos a primeira PASTE-UP jam em lisboa em conjunto com a urban creativity conference na Graça dia 5 de julho.

O QUE

O processo de criar a parede: Os artistas enviaram-nos os seus pastes digitais ou pintados com spray, acrílicos, canetas, desenho ou impressão digital). Utilizamos um adesivo simples, como cola de papel de parede ou uma mistura caseira à base de farinha e água (wheatpaste), para fixar o papel em superfícies externas. Os paste-ups permitem que os artistas preparem obras altamente detalhadas ou de grande escala com antecedência e as fixem rapidamente em espaços públicos, sem as limitações de tempo associadas à pintura com spray.

Sobre o workshop:

Vamos aprender a fazer um paste-up do zero — pintando com spray e canetas sobre folhas de jornal — e colá-los na parede ao lado de obras de artistas internacionais incríveis que também enviaram seus trabalhos!
