This time we will celebrate the Ethiopian New Year's Eve!! It is a perfect oportunity to learn more about other cultures and there are still a lot of people to know and be friends with.
The cookies are an Ethiopian tradition. The kids draw pictures (about the things they wish for their loved ones, not parents necessarily, but for neighbours) and they present their drawings to elders in exchange for verbal blessings and some rituals.. and sometimes candies , cookies or money.
It is a shame that we don't have any kids or elders... but that does not mean we can't have cookies right??
