A risky and rather uncommon setup, the saxophone duo—whether in the context of jazz, free improvisation, or contemporary composition. Straight to the Point, an album released by Rotten Fresh in 2022 (with new material on the way!), nonetheless successfully and naturally inhabits all of these worlds. Guilherme Rodrigues and Zé Maria, young saxophonists belonging to no particular scene, have a sharp understanding of the punk spirit found in silence and breath.
