SMT Porto Xmas (Porto Traditional Xmas) - A journey into the ancient Christmas season through its traditions and places.
As many other aspects of our society, traditional traditions have been changing at a very fast speed or in some cases even disappearing. In that process we also lose part of our collective memory and even identity.
In this Tour we aim to visit some of the most important places connected to the celebration of Christmas for a long time and also to share some of the most interesting traditions that used to mark the season.

Where the first “Árvore the Natal” was placed in Portugal. What used to be the Traditional Christmas Dinner? What products did the “Portuenses” used to buy for the “Ceia de Natal” and were they could buy them. What other traditions are associated with the Christmas season , among many other relevant aspects of Porto and Portugal history, culture, society and ecology.

Slow Motion Tours develops Alternative Touristic Tours and Programs with the aim of providing a different way to get to know and eventually get involved into the local reality. Our main focus is in allowing our participants to get to know the local reality in a deep and significant way, like in what relates to social, ecological and cultural aspects.
