"IN GIRUM IMUS NOCTE ET CONSUMIMUR IGNI": Exposição fotográfica de FOTOPLASTA

Num mundo surreal onde os sonhos se fundem com a realidade, as mulheres navegam num labirinto de desejos e medos, em busca do prazer supremo em meio à incerteza. Através da lente do FOTOPLASTA, as suas almas dualistas são reveladas de forma nítida, refletindo tanto a beleza exterior como a agitação interior. A ambiguidade e o mistério dão vida às fotografias, transformando-as numa narrativa onírica repleta de prazeres sensoriais.

À medida que a fronteira entre a realidade e a ilusão se esbate, a exposição explora a luta pela autodeterminação e pelo sentido da vida. Presas num jogo de luz e sombra, as mulheres personificam a força e a vulnerabilidade, tentadoramente perto do prazer supremo, mas eternamente elusivas. Vislumbramos um universo efémero onde a beleza e o desespero se entrelaçam numa eterna luta pela sobrevivência, refletidos infinitamente nas profundezas das suas almas.

O título, um verso em latim de Virgílio traduzido como "nós damos voltas na noite e somos consumidos pelo fogo", é um palíndromo cativante que pode ser lido em ambos os sentidos, criando uma sensação de movimento circular e infinito. O poeta alude às borboletas nocturnas irresistivelmente atraídas pela chama de um fogo na noite, apenas para serem queimadas.

Na escuridão deste espaço preenchido pela música do SONOPLASTA, as imagens simbolizam o fogo, enquanto vocês, os visitantes, personificam as borboletas nocturnas.

A inauguração da exposição fotográfica acontece na galeria Little Chelsea Experience (Marvila) no dia 19 de Setembro das 16h às 22h com entrada gratuita e das 19h às 21h há uma performance interactiva de waxplay realizada pela Olga Senseme.

In a surreal world where dreams meld with reality, women navigate a maze of desires and fears, seeking ultimate pleasure amidst uncertainty. Through the lens of FOTOPLASTA, their dualistic souls are starkly revealed, reflecting both external beauty and inner turmoil. Ambiguity and mystery breathe life into the photographs, transforming them into a dreamlike narrative filled with sensual delights. 

As the boundary between reality and illusion fades, the exhibition explores the struggle for self-determination and meaning. Trapped in a play of light and shadow, women embody strength and vulnerability, tantalizingly close to ultimate pleasure yet forever elusive. We glimpse an ephemeral universe where beauty and despair intertwine in an eternal struggle for survival, mirrored endlessly in their souls' depths. 

The title, a Latin verse from Virgil translated as "we go round and round in the night and are consumed by fire", is a captivating palindrome that can be read in both directions, creating a sense of circular, infinite movement. The poet alludes to moths irresistibly drawn to the flame of a fire in the night, only to be burned. 

In the darkness of this room filled by the music of SONOPLASTA, the images symbolize the fire, while you, the visitors, embody the moths.

The opening of the photography exhibition is at the Little Chelsea Experience gallery (Marvila) on September 19th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. with free admission. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be an interactive waxplay performance by Olga Senseme.
