SMT10 (Massarelos) - The “Porto” of the Romantism among many other “secrets”
The history of Massarelos is deeply related with the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean. Since very early it has been a land of fishermen and sailors but, at the same time, a place where you can still find a rural landscape sometimes 5minutes away from the city centre. At the same time Massarelos is also an excellent place to travel until the “Romantism” period in Porto as of the Industrial Revolution as well… among many other relevant aspects of Porto and Portugal history, culture, society and ecology.
