This workshop is aimed at lovers of the music of Django Reinhardt and Jazz Manouche, prioritizing the inclusion of any instrumental musician, regardless of years of experience, training and instrument.
What you will learn:
The Workshop will include an intensive study of the main technical and stylistic elements of guitarist Django Reinhardt and Jazz Manouche. Improvisation techniques specific to the genre, repertoire and skills for playing in the context of a jam session will be covered.
Playing in a group is the most fun and efficient way to evolve as a musician, remembering that it is a popular musical genre, where the transmission and evolution of language depends on contact, personal exchange and the experience lived between musicians.
This is a monthly workshop in which every 2 months we will jam with a listening and dancing audience so that we can put into practice what we learned and trained in the workshop.

Teacher:
Gonçalo Mendonça was born in Lisbon in 1984. He began studying guitar with professor Paulo Valente at the Academia de Amadores de Música.
In 2008 he took up jazz guitar at the Hot Jazz Club in Lisbon where he took lessons with guitar teachers Bruno Santos, Sérgio Pelágio and André Fernandes.
In 2012 he joined the Jazz course at the University of Évora where he took guitar lessons with professor Mário Delgado.
Since 2015, Gonçalo Mendonça has taken on Jazz Manouche as his main stylistic reference. He took classes in Paris with Romain Vuillemin, Mathieu Chatelain, Adrien Marco, Hugo Guezbar, Adrien Tarraga, Daniel John-Martin and Philippe Baudoin.
Gonçalo Mendonça plays in several national projects such as Swing na Guelra, Tributo a Django Reinhardt, Manouche Station and Pompadelic Orchestra, and leads his group Gonçalo Mendonça Swingtet. (goncalomendonca.pt)
