Important information about the tour: 
Difficulty: accessible (but we will be walking for a while)  
Time: around 2h30 
Logistics: take comfortable clothing adaptable to the climate circumstances of the day.  
Participation fee: with the amount that you feel “Fair” in the end of the circuit

SMT Porto Xmas (Porto Traditional Xmas) - A journey into the ancient Christmas season through its traditions and places.  
As many other aspects of our society traditional traditions have been changing at a very fast speed or in some cases even disappearing. In that process we also loose part of our colective memory and even identity.  
In this Tour we aim to visit some of the most important places connected to the celebration of Christmas since a long time and also to share some of the most interesting traditions that used to mark the season.

Where the first “Árvore the Natal” was placed in Portugal. What used to be the Traditional Christmas Dinner? What products did the “Portuenses” bought for the “Ceia de Natal” and were they could buy them. What other traditions are associated with the Christmas season , among many other relevant aspects of Matosinhos and Portugal history, culture, society and ecology.

SMT10 (Massarelos) - The “Porto” of the Romantism among many other “secrets”   
The history of Massarelos is deeply related with the Douro River and the Atlantic Ocean. Since very early a land of fishermen and sailors but, at the same time, a place where you can still find a rural landscape sometimes 5minutes away from the city centre. At the same time Massarelos is also an excellent place to travel until the “Romantism” period in Porto as of the Industrial Revolution as well… among many other relevant aspects of Porto and Portugal history, culture, society and ecology.

Slow Motion Tours  
Slow Motion Tours develops alternative touristic tours and programs with the aim of providing a different way to get to know and get involved into the local reality. Our main focus is in allowing our participants to get to know the local reality in a deep and significant way, like in what relates to social, ecological and cultural aspects. Slow Motion Tours is an independent socio-cultural project based on the development of alternative tourism and ecossocial education.
