Oito anos (!) desde a primeira e revolucionária vinda do músico, explorador sonoro e pedagogo argentino 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀 ao Barreiro – para trabalhar criativamente com mais de uma dezena de utentes da 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮çã𝗼 𝗡Ó𝗦 - que entretanto já conhecemos como os “We2” e agora definitivamente como os “𝗛𝗲𝗿ó𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀” regressamos com o maior dos prazeres a este trabalho que se prova, ano após ano, como confirmação do poder transformador da música e a sua capacidade para promover a capacitação, a autonomia e a livre-expressão.
Coadjuvados pelos músicos 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 Á𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 e André Neves (aka George Silver), bem como por 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶 (que este ano “regressa” à equipa, selecionado através da Open Call lançada no passado mês de dezembro), Alan Courtis e os “Heróis” voltam a juntar-se para uma semana de criação que culmina numa nova apresentação ao vivo, na Biblioteca Municipal do Barreiro, onde, sobre a música a esperar, pouco se pode dizer - mais do que género ou estilo, é a personalidade de cada elemento e a identidade colectiva criada durante este workshop que certamente se fará ouvir; será seguro especular sobre poesia sonora, psicadelismo, free folk, hinos de futebol adaptados - mas é escusado agarrar-mo-nos a rótulos e géneros quando a música será, acima de tudo e certamente, intensamente livre e inigualavelmente pessoal.
Para 2024, prometemos que o trabalho dos Heróis não ficará por aqui - este trabalho integra agora, e até 2026, o projecto europeu tekhné, no âmbito do qual poderá crescer e apresentar novas ramificações.

Eight years (!) after the first revolutionary arrival from the Argentinian musician, sound explorer and educator 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀 at Barreiro – working creatively with more than a dozen members of 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮çã𝗼 𝗡Ó𝗦 – formerly known as “We2” but now definitively as “𝗛𝗲𝗿ó𝗶𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀”, it’s with the utmost pleasure that this project returns, living proof of the transforming power of music and its capacity to promote capability, autonomy and free expression.
Assisted by the musicians 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 Á𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀, André Neves (aka George Silver) and 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶, Alan Courtis and the “Heróis” get back together for a week of creative creation that culminates in a new live performance, at Biblioteca Municipal do Barreiro, where little can be said about what to expect musically - more than genre or style, it’s the personality of each element and the collective identity that originates during the workshop that will certainly be heard; it’s safe to expect sonic poetry, psychedelia, free folk, adapted football anthems - but it’s best to leave tags and genres aside when the music will be, above all else, intensely free and unequivocally personal.
For this year, we can promise the work of these Heróis will not stop here - this project is now a part (and will continue to be until 2026) of the European consortium tekhné, wherein it will be able to grow and assume new aspects.
