The time has come. We are thrilled to announce the 2nd edition of Basilar Festival from 7-10 September 2023 in a new and stunning location in the North of Portugal - Barragem da Queimadela in Fafe.
We left part of ourselves in Montalegre, a place where we created everlasting bonds and memories and where we set the tone for what Basilar is all about. However, being in such a remote location turned out to be a massive challenge for our team. After reading all your feedback and thoroughly analysing the first edition, this move seems to be the right decision.
Barragem da Queimadela is a small Eden just 8km from the city of Fafe where we can find all the necessary amenities to host a boutique festival like ours. The oak tree environment surrounding this river beach setting is the perfect encouragement to dive in and explore the most idyllic dancefloor under the greenery.
A fully equipped campsite just above the festival grounds will provide all the infrastructure we need to make sure you have a better experience: toilets, showers, water points, power outlets and shades are some of the significant upgrades we’ll be able to offer.
Our vision remains unchanged, as does our commitment to present a festival for a music-focused community, umbilically connected to nature and with the greater purpose of creating long-lasting bonds between music, environment and crowd.
Making sure everything we built in the first edition is even better requires a huge joint effort and, for that reason, tickets are already available so that those of you who are committed to our cause can support this project from its inception.
