O Congresso Português de Sociologia será um momento de encontro em presença e à distância para muitos dos colegas de profissão a trabalhar na investigação ou no terreno em que a partilha e discussão de conceitos, teorias, metodologias e práticas n(d)a sociologia poderão semear novas respostas para os desafios que enfrentamos.

Apelamos à participação de todas e todos neste encontro crucial para a sociologia em português e que há tanto tempo esperamos! Gostaríamos muito de contar com a participação de sociólogos que trabalhem em contextos não académicos e que possam trazer o seu olhar "do terreno" que complementa a perspetiva da investigação académica. A colaboração entre a sociologia académica e a sociologia de intervenção é crucial para conhecer e agir nas sociedades polarizadas em que vivemos.
Discutir se a polarização da sociedade nos conduziu ou não a um ponto de não retorno é um dos objetivos do XII Congresso Português de Sociologia sob o lema Sociedades Polarizadas? Desafios para a Sociologia, que se realizará de 4 a 6 de abril de 2023, sob a organização da APS e da comissão local do grupo de sociologia da FEUC, do CES, da CMC e da CIM.
Envio de resumos até 30 de novembro de 2022.
O XII Congresso irá realizar-se na modalidade presencial existindo também a possibilidade de realização de sessões de apresentação de comunicações das Secções/Áreas Temáticas na modalidade online.
Ao entregar a sua proposta deverá indicar se a sua participação será presencial ou online. O programa irá assim ter algumas sessões presenciais e outras online.
Quem se tiver inscrito na modalidade presencial fará a apresentação da sua comunicação numa sessão presencial mas poderá assistir às sessões online que desejar.
Quem se tiver inscrito na modalidade online terá acesso a todas as sessões online que desejar.

XII Portuguese Congress of Sociology | Polarized Societies? Challenges for Sociology April 4 and 6, 2023 | Coimbra, Portugal
The Portuguese Sociological Association has more than two thousand members, being one of the largest international organizations of its kind. Every two years, we hold a Conference where scholars and other professionals meet to debate issues crucial to Sociology and sociologists. Besides the Portuguese community, our Conference usually has a strong presence of experts from other countries. Established in 1988 each congress has been dedicated to a generic theme. It is with an immense delight that we see that both participants as well as communications have been considerable increasing through times. To discuss whether the polarization of society has led us to a point of no return is one of the objectives of the XII Portuguese Congress of Sociology, titled Polarized Societies? Challenges for Sociology, which will take place between April 4 and 6, 2023, and is organized by the APS and the local commission of the sociology group of FEUC, CES, CMC, and CIM.

The XII Congress will be held in person, with the option of online sessions for presentations from the Thematic Sections/Areas.
When submitting your proposal, you must specify whether your participation will be in person or online. The programme will thus feature both in-person and online sessions.
Presenters who choose the in-person option can also attend any online sessions they wish.
Presenters who choose the online option will have access to all other online sessions.
