Algarve All Jazz é o projecto Premium que a Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve apresentou aos Munícipios de Loulé, Lagoa e Lagos, e que se tornou possível mercê da inclusão do mesmo na Rede de Teatros e Cineteatros Portugueses. Prevê assim três concertos a ocorrer naqueles três Municípios, contemplando o que de melhor se faz a nível Mundial no seio desta linguagem, que é o Jazz. Permitiu a criação de repertório original, ou de orquestrações originais, que serão também registadas em CD. Nesta primeira edição, convidamos o saxofonista Norte Americano Rick Margitza, nome maior, que despontou ainda das últimas formações de Miles Davis em finais dos anos 80, e que tem feito até hoje uma carreira notável, e segundo muitos num estilo também ele notável, Rick traz-nos uma série de temas originais, com orquestrações para Orquestra Jazz que decerto não vão passar despercebidos. Vânia Fernandes é a Voz de outros tantos temas, seleccionados do cancioneiro jazz, como sejam Naima, mas não deixando de incluir um tema do também Madeirense Max: Bordadeiras. Todos estes temas foram orquestrados por forma a fazerem um sentido comum, quer em palco, quer em disco, porque este projecto tem essas duas vertentes. De fora não ficará ainda uma acção formativa Sound Capsule, que permitirá o contacto directo destes dois convidados com o público e profissionais da Música, num Algarve All jazz que se quer seja incluso de toda uma experiência, e que, mais uma vez, deixe um legado na Região, quando termine.
Algarve All Jazz is the Premium project that the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve presented to the Municipalities of Loulé, Lagoa and Lagos, and which became possible thanks to its inclusion in the Portuguese Theaters and Cineteatros Network. It therefore foresees three concerts to take place in those three Municipalities, contemplating the best that is done in World level within this language, which is Jazz. It allowed the creation of original repertoire, or original orchestrations, which will also be recorded on CD. In this first edition, we invited the North American saxophonist Rick Margitza, one of the biggest names, who emerged from the last Miles Davis formations in the late 80's, and who has made a remarkable career until today, and according to many in a remarkable style, Rick brings us a series of original themes, with orchestrations for Orquestra Jazz that will certainly not go unnoticed. Vânia Fernandes is the Voice of many other themes, selected from the jazz songbook, such as Naima , but not forgetting to include a theme by the also Madeirense Max: Bordadeiras. All these themes were orchestrated in order to make a common sense, whether on stage or on record, because this project has these two aspects. There will salso be a Sound Capsule training action, which will allow the direct contact of these two guests with the public and music professionals, in an Algarve All jazz that wants to be included in a whole experience, and that, once again, leaves a legacy in the Region, when it ends.
