Mystic Raags

Indian Classical Concert with Jason Kalidas ( UK) and Francisco Cabral (PT)

Various Raags are used for the different times of day and night and particular Raags for the whole plethora of emotions . This evening the artists will perform Raags with the of theme of mystical and introspective . The perfomance ranges from deeply meditative to improvised dynamic explorations of rhythm and melody. The music will be performed on Bansuri and Tabla 

Jason Kalidas  - Bansuri
Jason Kalidas is a British/Irish musician based in Lagos, Portugal. He trained in Indian classical music since 1996. He learned Tabla for a decade in UK and Varanasi India among masters like Ishwal lal Misra and more. Jasons main instrument is Bansuri, he began studies on Bansuri and Raaga in Varanasi in 2004, he  learned  with Dr Shanish Kumar in Varanasi and Rajendra Prasanna in Delhi . He performs Indian classical music in Europe and India.Jason is also a composer for contemporary dance , live electronica and fusion artist



Francisco Cabral- Tabla 
Francisco learned the Tabla with his teachers Raimund Engelhardt (disciple of Badri Maharaj, disciple of the great  Kante Maharaj), Ravinath Misra and Arvind Kumar Azad from the Benares Gharana, and the Pakhawaj with his guruji Manik Munde and Sukhad Munde
