BIO:
Krishangi Lila, originally from Estonia, is a devotional singer, sound artist, voice
embodiment coach and a healer giving voice workshops, sound baths and concerts in different places in the world. Besides singing, she accompanies herself on harmonium, bansuri, setar and frame drum. Since 2014 she is engaged as a teacher of harmonium and vocals in Kirtan Course at Bhaktivedanta College, Radhadesh.
She graduated from Norwegian State Academy of Music in 2000 as a classical singer, and for some years after graduating she performed western medieval music with different music groups as Rondellus and Olde Hansa Musicians in Estonia.
But her musical interest changed after she came in contact with bhakti yoga tradition and joined the ashram for 12 years where Sanskrit mantra singing was a daily practice.
During this period of her life she studied bhakti yoga philosophy and graduated from Lampeter University with Bachelor Degree in Vaishnava Theology. Her frequent travels to India lead her to different researches in Nada yoga and studies in Dhrupad music with Gundecha Brothers in Bhopal.
Her musical compositions are deeply influenced by western medieval vibes, Indian ragas, nada yoga practices with flavours from shamanic and sufi practices.
As a voice embodiment coach, she is focusing on the healing aspect of the voice and its vibration; how to find your natural voice; how to use the healing potencies of the voice to remove the energetic blockages and tensions from the body.
In 2008, she released her first album called “Divine Love” together with Kalindi dasi.
This CD, commissioned by Bhaktivedanta College, was mainly inspired by the Holy texts
of the Divine Rasa Dance from the scripture Bhagavata Purana that is available on Bandcamp.
New album called “Lalasa” (“Longing”) was released spring 2020 by an ethnic fusion project called “Lila” where Krishangi Lila as a singer collaborates with Jonathan Kay on esraj and saxophone and Ziya Tabassian on Sufi percussions and Sina Gheisary on ney
and oud. Available on major platforms as Spotify, Amazn Music and iTunes.
