Em (b)reaching stillness a imobilidade é tida como uma mudança contínua e pesquisada em todo o seu potencial físico. O ponto de partida para esta peça foram as naturezas-mortas do período Barroco, não apenas pelo seu óbvio elemento de imobilização, mas principalmente pela sua capacidade de “vitalizar” motivos inanimados. Glamorosos clímaces emergem de uma superfície monocromática para logo entrarem novamente em colapso. A peça desenvolve uma dinâmica cíclica, que não pode ser afetada por nenhum momento de drama crescente nem por nenhum tipo de opulência. Decadência e reformulação constantes, mudanças imperturbáveis, florescimento, submersão seguida de uma nova subida. Em palco, coabitam a paralisação dinâmica e diferente formas de ressurreição. A nível acústico, a Sinfonia da Ressurreição (1894), de Gustav Mahler, surge em aparente contraste pois, pela sua forma dramática e exuberante, escapa a qualquer tipo de imobilização. Porém, para (b)reaching stillness, o motivo da ressurreição – livre de conotações religiosas – torna-se um princípio vital dentro do levantamento comum, uma revisão sincrónica ou uma simples repetição. ⁄ Three apparently motionless bodies are lying on blue ground. In (b)reaching stillness standstill is regarded as a continuous change and investigated on its physical potential. The starting point are Baroque still life paintings - not only due to their obvious element of immobilisation - but mainly due to their ability of «vitalization» of dead or inanimate motifs. Glamorous climaxes emerge out of a monochrome surface before collapsing once again. Throughout the piece a cyclical dynamic is developed, which cannot be affected by any arising moment of drama or opulence. Constant decay and reshaping, imperturbable change, blossoming, sinking down and rising up again. On stage dynamic standstill and different forms of resurrection appear together. On an acoustic level Gustav Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony (1894), seems to be an opposition; in its dramatic and lush form it eludes any kind of immobilization.
