Os paleontólogos são os cientistas que estudam os fósseis.
Fósseis são registos de seres vivos que habitaram a terra há milhões de anos e ficaram preservados nas rochas. Os fósseis são muito importantes porque através deles é possível saber como era a vida no passado e conhecer espécies que já estão extintas.
Nesta oficina vamos ser paleontólogos do futuro. Ou seja, vamos andar milhões de anos para a frente e analisar os vestígios de uma espécie invasora que viveu no “Plastocénico”, a Época do plástico (que é a Época em que nos encontramos agora). Com barro e gesso vamos criar fósseis de e descobrir mais sobre esta espécie.

Palaeontologists are scientists who study fossils.
Fossils are records of living creatures who lived on Earth millions of years ago and were preserved in the soil. Fossils are very important because they allow us to understand what life was like in the past and to discover species that are already extinct.
In this workshop, we are going to be the palaeontologists of the future. In other words, we are going to travel millions of years into the future to analyse the remains of an invasive species that lived in the “Plastocene”, or the plastic era (the era we now live in).
Using clay and plaster, we are going to create fossils of and discover more about this species.
